Hi everyone. My first interview scheduled on 28th january 2012 at atlanta USCIS i got married with USC in August 2011 after dating one and a half years. i have some questions regarding my case. hopefully y'all help me out here.

1. I applied for my work permit EAD with my green card but still not approved for it but they do call me for GC application. IS that a red flag ?? plz share your experience thoughts .

2. we have everything joint lease bank account car insurance pictures and utility bills and bonafide letters with both names on it but the only problem i have is my wife also have a property on her name which she rented it out ( we have sublease tho ) and she also have power and water bills on her name at that address as everything is included in the rent for tenants. Is that cause a problem for us?? i read on this forum that they check "choice point database" and grill couple with two different addresses. what do i expect any experiences??

3. Its my wife third marriage (she have divorce decrees for the previous ones) and we have three stepsons from these marriages but we only have custody of one tho . Do they gonna grill us for that ??

Any advice on this is highly appreciated as this whole process is so nerve wrecking for us. Thanks

Moved from IR-1 CR-1 forum to Adjustment forum as it is a question about adjustment of status not spousal visas.

Your question has been put in Adjustment for work, student, tourist as it seems you entered the USA and are adjusting from another form of visa if not a Fiance(e) visa though you have no timeline so I cannot accurately tell where t place your question.

Please fill in your timeline. good.gif

Some people actually receive their GC in hand before their EAD so that's no big deal.

If you and your wife actually live together and can prove shared residence then the fact that she has another property that is rented out to tenants (once she can prove this) shouldn't be an issue either. I would bring the lease and maybe rent receipts showing that tenants live at that address just in case. I doubt they'll ask for proof though once you give the explanation and I'm assuming that with the exception of those utilities, all your wife's mail goes to the residence she shares with you.

Lots of people have been married more than once. They may ask about the circumstances of the divorces and the custody arrangements but that shouldn't be too much of an issue either.

Just be truthful and take all your evidence with you to support your explanations of things you perceive to be a possible red flag. Better over-prepared than under-prepared

My husband and I took a large banker box full of everything we could imagine that showed us together or our life together. Any statements with both our names on it or anything to prove we were together. We had photocopies of important things like last 6 months of bank statements in case they wanted to keep them. Photocopy of marriage certificate and receipt of engagement and wedding rings. Most of the time of the interview was spent browsing through that box and photo albums. Better to be over prepared. We were both previously divorced and nothing was asked about end of previous marriages.

Read the reviews of other's interviews on this site. I found that most helpful.
