This might not interest a whole bunch of people however I thought I'd share it. The current government in Denmark is talking about allowing dual citizenship - right now it's impossible to have dual citizenship as a Dane unless e.g. I(being married and living overseas) give birth to a child and the child is automatically entitled to US and DK citizenship, or a Dane automatically gains citizenship through marriage to a foreigner, and even here the road is ..uhm, pretzel'ed(eh hehe :) ). Whether or not it'll ever be a reality is a different matter(knowing how they do alot of talking and less actions). I know in my own case I won't think about citizenship elsewhere if it means giving up my Danish citizenship, I just thought it was worth mentioning the articles.

The article about dual citizenship is from October 2011. So it's pretty old news, do you think it is still actual?

The current government has talked so much before the election and now you probably know that they break one promise after another after the election. I still want the cheaper public transport that they promised...dry.gif

But yeah, It would be REALLY sweet if it does happen.

Yeah, they unfortunately talk a bit too much to gain a few extra sympathy votes. They haven't been talking that much about it before though, and back in early 2000'ish most of the parties wouldn't even think about dual citizenship. That has certainly changed. I recommend startsborger.dk - only because they're on top of most news. It is a private website though. I'd try to follow up on the news about it, a friend of mine is in the government, and even though it's not his area it's still valid to poke him a bit about it once in a while.

Regarding public transportation, they should never have taken a large lump of the statsstøtte/state support away a few years ago. I lived in Copenhagen for about 7 years and used the trains alot. Just 2 zones went through the roof moneywise in that time frame. It cost me about the same to travel around in Cph by bus/train a year ago as it did getting there.. In a plane from Aalborg :D
