First off just a simple hello. I'm Dana, I'm living in the United States.

My fiance is a New Zealand citizen, living in Australia. On 05 Aug, 2011 - I sent in the I-129F so we could start the paperwork of him moving over to the States so we could get married. on 05 Jan, 2012 marked the five month processing time. Since then, every weekday I'm trying to call the nearest office and only getting that automated person over the phone. I'm starting to get a bit stressed out, actually we're both getting stressed out by this waiting after the five months. At the beginning I told my fiance that any day the notice in the mail should come so we can move onto the next step. But I'm starting to get worried now - I'm starting to lose sleep.

I tried email the closest office so see if there's a "period of time to wait" after the five month mark, etc. But I haven't gotten any reply back - even though I have sent the email about a few days ago. I check the case status every day since we sent in the form.

Is this normal to freak out during this period? Or what? I really don't know what to do, or think.

So please, any information right now would be wonderful. The both of us need all the help we could get right now since we both don't know what to expect.

Thank you,

Dana

I'm a NZ citizen living in Australia too, we got our NOA1 on the 25th of July and haven't heard anything either. :\ It's getting hard going so long without hearing anything, I get the impression that all we can really do is wait it out. But I definitely know how you feel!

Look on your notice of action/receipt(NOA!) you got in your mail. There's a phone number in the right bottom of page. Call that one and if you can't get through to a human, call the number again and do absolutely nothing until your call goes to a human who thinks you don't have any buttons on your phone to press :) That, or follow this little guide: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/293330-calling-uscis/

Edit: Yes, it's normal to freak out and be stressed about the process and the whole "knowing nothing" for a numerous amount of months. It goes up and down for the service centers, some months they're slow, at other occasions they pick up. It's hard not being in control, I'll give you that. It's even harder when it's almost impossible to not focus so much on the process too.

We are also waiting and freaking out. It really helped calling them though. Just to hear that they have our case and that they are working on it. This is the number that we called: 1-800-375-5283. At some point the automated voice will ask you to give them you case number. If you don't have it or it does not go through. Press 2 and you get to speak with a representative(or at least that's what happened to us when I called). I don't know if it is any help but we have been waiting since June 23 and every time we ask it does not seem to be our case that there is anything wrong with. The processing time is just loooooooooooooooong.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, this process can be very stress-inducing. You are certainly not alone, there are many of us here at VisaJourney (VJ) that are walking the same path as you. While you waiting (akin to watching grass grow), consider becoming acquainted with the information and features of this site. There is a wealth of information available at the Guides and the Timelines . Incidentally, the VJ Timelines indicate that according to other VJ's timelines, the CSC is starting to process I-129F petitions with an NOA1 date of 4 August 2011. What is your NOA1 date? While you are waiting, consider filling out your timeline, the more VJ data, the better the VJ timeline statistics. The whole visa process is quite protracted, but the end results make it all worth it.

Good luck,

YMMV.

The California Service Center has a bunch of us wondering what day they will shift into high gear.

Calling will do no good right now, if you do call and mange to talk to a human they will tell you they are working on June 16th, and they will tell you to call back............later.

I got my RFE yesterday. Everything they need to use for evidence is pretty easy to get.

Though the only thing that's a bit confusing is writing an original statement to show that both my fiance and I agree to get married within the 90-days upon my arrival.

I really don't know what to write, all I have to far is:

  • I, (my name here), agrees to marry my beneficary, (fiance's name), within the 90-day period upon his arrival into the United States.

I feel like I didn't write enough for the statement. My fiance feels the same way.

But for the other pieces of evidence they sent, we understand 100% what the USCIS is asking for.

Also another thing that confused me a bit was the G-325A form. Do I need to fill out one for both myself and my fiance? Or just my fiance?

One for you, and one for your fiance. As well as you need to send one letter of intent from you, and one from your fiance (don't forget to switch names).
