A walk in will not cause issues. If you are able to do one (some places don't allow it), it may or may not speed up your process. If your local office is backed up and they are just waiting on biometrics to continue processing, then yes, a walk-in may speed things up by a couple weeks. If your office is not backed up and you get an early appointment then it probably won't make much difference.

If you eat recycled food does it speed up digestion? Answer is right there. You might get an RFE or cause issues with your case.

You won't get an RFE for going early. The worst that will happen is you'll get there and they will tell you no and you will have to return on your scheduled date.

I did my walk-in a week early. And it seems like most of people on VJ does early walk-ins. I'm not encouraging or telling you, you should do it but mine turned out just fine. I even told the security lady that I came early and she told me it's ok.

Just it sucks that next week monday is another federal holiday so USCIS won't work lol

I walked in two weeks before my appointment. It did not seem to speed up my EAD/AP, which was sent to me within the normal 2-month timeframe, but I have my interview 90 days after filing my application, which is rather fast. So, in my case, I think walking in might have sped things up a bit.
