They have any laws on that in Cali? I know in Alaska your not allowed to talk on a cell when your driving on the freeways or on Anchorage roads.

Sure they do. But, hippies don't think laws apply to them, just other people.

So they restrict your freedoms in Alaska? ** that!

I'm not big on laws myself, but I don't have a problem with those cell phone laws. Too many times some broad yaking on the phone has cut me off in rush hour traffic in the middle of winter. Try stopping on a dime when your driving 65mph on snow and ice. I can see using those blue tooth things though..the ones that clamp on above the ear. Those seem ok imo.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Considering Texas is technically further south than California, that's a fairly vicious indictment of Texas drivers!

But true.

I agree. You must have missed the sarcasm embedded in my post. Drives me up the wall that there are still debates in this state around whether or not it should be legal to text while driving. They can't even get themselves to agree on making it a taboo at least for teens - the main offenders as it is. So we'll just have a few more people get killed by texting teens before we come to our senses. It's all good. At least we've got plenty of sunshine.

We could all drive 35 mph on the freeways up here during winter and take hours and hours to get where were going, or better yet not have idiots talking on the cell and cutting people off while not even noticing what they are doing until it's too late. Our winters up here last near 9 months a year and we drive on in this stuff just fine until some cell phone yaking moron screws it for everyone else.

btw how much snow and ice do you deal with in Texas?

North Texas a lot. I probably drive on more ice and snow roads then most people. It is my job to do so.

Well I have no idea if Amarillo has snow and ice on it's roads 24-7 for 9 mos out of the year along with mountains...and I mean real mountains with roads in and out a and not "hills". Iv'e driven on this for 30 years now and people do just fine if they do it right and intelligent. Don't buy rear wheel drive cars, and make sure your using studded tires that are in decent shape. Don't go faster than what you can handle on the corners, and don't be running your mouth on a cell phone and then cutting people off while not having a clue for the fact you failed to check your mirrors.

I am also constantly driving in mountains. One must drive for the conditions.
