Hello everyone!!

I realize this has probably been asked a million times, but I cant find a related topic.

My husband just got his interview scheduled in Montreal for February 28th. We are hoping to change it to an earlier date in February.

Can anyone advise us on how to do this? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

you can try and email the Mtl consulate---ur case # in subject line--and have a very good reason. Just beware Mtl takes forever to respond to email. Someone had posted a way to get a respoinse, not sure of the thread. Having a very good reason may increase your chances, but do not count on it, but it does not hurt to try

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

i know i don't have my own timeline as mine is very messed up and wouldn't add a lot of value to others but i'm curious of when your paperwork left the NVC for montreal for you to have an interview date of feb 28th?

mine just finished at nvc this week and i was told that it was not scheduled for feb but rather that i'll have to hope it is scheduled in the 2nd week of feb for march. (they do the scheduling the 2nd week of each month for the following month)

so just curious what your time line looks like so i can try and gauge if i will get a march or april interview.

thanks.

Our case (I'm the lucky husband referred to above with the Feb. 28 interview) was approved by NVC at the very end of December/very early January. We called NVc the night of January 4th and were told that they could not get us an interview for January and would not, at the time, comment on our chances of a February interview. Luckily, I suppose, we're not scheduled for March. We had the interview date sent to us by e-mail on January 12th.

Hope this helps and good luck!

thanks! I just did that. Funny enough I got an automated response saying for any scheduling issues to contact this website: "These inquires should be addressed to CSC Visa Information Services <http://canada.usvisa-info.com/> using the contact details listed here http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_generalinquiries." After I email the CSS Visa info services, I get another automated response with this in it: "Inquiries concerning visa questions or assistance in confirming, canceling, or rescheduling (aside from No Shows) your visa appointment will not be answered through this service." Where the heck do the handle interview scheduling then?? This is very frustrating.

Question: When an NVC schedules an appt for an interview, it is confirmed, correct? We called the consulate and they were telling us something to the effect that the interview is not even confirmed.

Also, in regards to DHL services - do we have to use them? Can we just pick up the visa the same day at the consulate?

HELP!

Your funny!! lol At 1 time they handed out the visa the same day in Mtl, then they went the next day, then it went you had to bring ur own pre-paid envelope and NOW DHL delivers the package! Again, you can ask and a few have been fortunate, but again, you will need a very good reason. And stating your spouse wants to take him back with you ASAP, probably isn't going to cut it! But if you do not ask, the answer is already no!
