Anyone know whats going on with California Service Center I haven't seen any approvals lately ??? Today marks my 4 month since I petitioned kinda nervous now what's going on ????

Waiting I know sux. I remember being here this time last year. It usually takes around 5 months to get the NOA2. Just be patient (as nearly impossible as that can be. :( ) Hang in there you can call and put in a service request of the 5 month mark. (you can try but they usually will do so)

I don't know where you don't see any approvals, 7 members received their NOA2 yesterday, 3 today… If you rely on the forums, not everybody posts a new topic when they receive their NOA2. Look here for the list: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl=$cfl

(it's only VJ members, so a small proportion of all the petitions that CSC receives. Let's say it just gives an idea…)

CSC is a lot slower than VSC for sure, but they are working now. :)

I remember reading a post about the vermont service center were all the adjucaters would work on the same kind of petitions for a period of time and then they switched to a different. I dont know if its the same way anymore or if they run things like that in california. My AOS is in california but i am still within timeline.

Yay! Congrats John Dam Dam! 4 NOA2 for CSC today! Plus you will make the estimated processing time decrease :P

(BTW, think of updating your Service center on your profile page to CSC and not Texas, so we know you're at CSC when you post on the forums)

Some I-129F statistics about CSC for those that are interested. These numbers are from the USCIS website.

screenshot20120114at051.png

Monthly average of new I-129F applications receipts : 2009.3

Monthly average of I-129F applications completed: 1982.1

Monthly average of I-129F pending applications: 8771

Average processing time for I-129F = 8771/2009.3 = 4.37 ( 4 months 11 days)

These numbers suggest that they are trying to clear the I-129F cases as fast as they are coming in which would meet their processing time goal of 5 months considering the number of pending cases.

The processing of I-129F at CSC seems to go through cycles. They tend to speed up after new year and slow down a lot in late summer/autumn.

What's more, the turnover rate (the number of new applications minus the number of application completed in a month) also reveals an interesting trend.

It seems like when the number of backlog cases approaches ~1000 cases, it triggers a speed-up of the processing time. This may be because they pull more manning from other visa type to work on the I-129F

The same holds true when they are ahead for ~ 1000 cases, they seem to pull the manning off I-129F cases causing the processing time to slow down.

The USCIS goal for I-129F is 5 months processing time. The trends confirm that they are working to keep that timeline. Based on the trends, CSC will most likely speed-up from now on to clear all backlog case and it will also create a momentum for a while until they pull the manning off. good.gif

If your case has been under processing for more than 5-6 months, my guess is that your case needs additional background checking.

You can see, they complete ~2000 I-129F cases every month,so be patient. Things are moving and about to move a lot faster! smile.gif

NOTE. These trends and numbers are only based on a dataset of two years, it might not be accurate because of the sample size. But at least, it gives you an idea of what is going on
