I don't get it! If the interview went fine, why would they want to send the petition back to NVC? Can you print out a copy of the red paper and get your congressman to contact the embassy ASAP to find out why?

If I remember correctly there is about a 30 year age difference with HER being the older. Since this is not common in Turkish culture I am sure this was one of the big red flags that caused them issues.

At 6:30 this morning he called and said the interview went very well. He said they took all his paperwork and let him tell all about my family and he had over 100 more photos to show them and e-mails. He had gone and got new police records and marriage docs and birth certificate just in case anything was lost. He had everything. He said the officer was very nice and asked him to come back 1 and 1/2 hours later. Then he called me and said they said they were sending his papers back to NVC and he would have to come back for another interview. They is all he told me.

You need to have him scan and email you a copy of the paper. If it's going back to NVC, it's not so he can have another interview. Read what the paper actually says and tell us exactly, not somebody else's or even your own interpretation of what it says or means.

I expect you'll find the word "revoke" somewhere in the wording, meaning they are returning the petition with a recommendation USCIS revoke their approval of it. Something is terribly amiss here and you can't get to the bottom of it without seeing that actual wording.

He sent me a copy of a Red Paper with the wrong Visa written on it said K1 instead of CR1. He kept asking my husband over and over how he asked me to marry him. The red notice says Return to NVC for review. My husband asked them why but they would not tell him.

The paper says more than that. Forget about any reference to the wrong visa. Quote the entire sentence that contains the word "return".

I hate to break it to you this way, but if there is any truth at all to the "Come back in an hour and a half...." story, then the checked out one or two of the things he said in the interview, caught him in a lie, discussed things with a supervisor and denied the visa. Again, you'll probably see the word "revoke" or "revocation" in the sentence containing the word "return" and the word "ineligible" in the opening relevant paragraph. Time to get your wits about you and read carefully.

If you've been sending money, you'll want to stop now.

A man marrying an older woman in Turkey is unusual, they must have seen that as a red flag and it looks like he did not convince them during the interview.

Does he have any children? How old is he? What job does he do? Where does he live?

I've lived in Turkey for 5 years, and I've seen an incredible number of men taking advantage of female tourists. It is very common for a certain category of young guys to hook up with a European or American girl, pretend they're in love, while they actually are married or engaged and only interested in the money/free sex/entertainment/immigration benefits. You wouldn't believe what I witnessed...

I'm not saying it's the case with your husband, but I'm pretty sure the US embassy is very aware of that, and the age difference made them suspect a scam. You're gonna need a lot of work to prove it is a bona fide relationship.

Good luck!

She wants "help". The first step is to get to the truth of the matter. This is not a truth that's going to feel good now, but there may well be a light at the end of the tunnel. First, it's important to understand just which tunnel it is and that it IS a dark place.

When did you last see each other? I know the process has been going on forever but you have to show that even in the interim you are maintaining your relationship.

I'm 9 years older than my husband, but we'd known each other for 7 years, been living together for 4 years in his country and had multiple visits to family back and forth to the US before we married and applied for our visa, I was also pregnant at the time. They never once asked anything about our age differences. There must be some problems other than age that made them think twice about issuing your visa.

Oh thank you all so much for the comments. I really do need help. I am telling you that yes there is a large age difference but this man truly loves me. We have been through so much together. The loss of his grandmother and loss of his mother. We have lived together with his family, although for a short time, because of mine insecurities about not having a job. I have a mortgage and two little dogs I adore. I was having to pay the mortgage and have someone stay their with my dogs. We tried to stay two months in the DR waiting for his visa but a co-worker had a stroke and they offered my job back which I needed desperately. He scanned me a copy of the Red Slip. We are a CR1 visa and it said K-1. And it had only the words written RETURN TO NVC FOR REVIEW. The officer told him he would get a second interview. He asked why it was being returned and they did not tell him. I have e-mailed them and I have not gotten a response yet. I have contacted an attorney. I will give up everything and move to Turkey, but I am trying to give this a chance to go to second interview. Please any advice will be so much help. Should I sell everything now? My husband truly loves me. And I truly love him.

Thank you so much for wanting to help us. We are both in so much pain. If I move to Turkey and stay there this time and sell my home and give up my job again, can we refile later and will they let us come back to the United States sometime in the future.
