Hello

If the Petitioner sends her original birth certificate to NVC, how NVC will return it to her?!

What category of visa is being petitioned?

if the its the IR/CR-1, IR-5, in short anything apart fro n the K visas you will need to send the original to NVC and they forward it to the embassy. It is then returned after the interview. Please DO NOT FORGET to ask for your originals after interview and also send copies with your originals ortherwise, they claim they will assume ownership of the original( dnt knw how serious they are with that statement)

It is IR-5 for parents and I am the petitioner

Since I don't have certified copy of my birth certificate I am thinking to send NVC my original bith certificate.

I am in USA and not going with my parents to the interview so I need to know if NVC will return it to my address in US or will give it to my parents on the interview day or what .

Thanks

I also petitioned for IR-5 and had to send in my original birth certificate.

When NVC emailed me fater case complete that my file was being sent to the embassy, they listed all the documents they are sending and it included originals and copies I had mailed to them...

your parent will get it back at the emabssy after the interview. Just include copies of all originals to NVC and also mails copies to the beneficiary to take to the interview just in case they lose the first copy.

This is the second time I am mailing my original beithr certificate to them.

The first time was five years agi when an agency filed employment visa for me and I got it back during the interview...

all the best

Don't forget to make copies and send the copies along(very important or they may be forced to keep the originals) . The embassy is supposed to verify the documents and keep the copies while returning the originals.

The original is returned during the interview. Tell your parents to remember to ask for the documents. Normally, they hand the original documents back just as the interview starts, but just in case, have them ask.

I had sent notarized copies of my Birth certificate before. Now I sent my original Birth certificate but I am applying for both parents and up to now each parent has a seprate file. I hope they will accept one original Birth certificate of petitioner for both parents applications since no one has 2 originals to send 1 original for each parent!!

Well have a shot and see what happen! If was me I would make sure I have 2 originals just think that 2 parents 2 separate process = 2 originals! You just don't want to get a REF at this time of the game right? and a few extra bucks won't hurt you.

I called NVC and they said the case is completed!yes.gif But they won't send me case complete email until they make the interview date and US embassy in Ankara does not schedule any interview for the month of February, so I have to wait.whistling.gif

Hello,

I have a question. Since I am petitioning both parents do I have to send two originals/certified copies of my birth and marriage certificate? I have only one original of each. Also, can I send both DS-230 forms in one envelope or separately? Anyone has a similar experience?

Thank you!
