I got Married Dec. Social Security Name Change goes ok. Got the ID. Now my next step is to get the DMV to change my last name in my ID here in Florida USA. They denied my application because my green card was not changed yet. Anyone can give me idea or advise. My green card will expire 2020 and drivers license 2018. My last name was changed already on my W4 for my employer and my SSI.

You need to change your GC before you can change your licence. If you were a USC it wouldn't matter, you could just change your SSA but as an immigrant our name is "controlled" by our USCIS documents.

Some people have reported no issues when they are in your situation, but as you can see this is a state issue and according to the link posted above your state requires your name match your USCIS documents (which makes sense because USCIS "tracks" us). It is always best to have matching documents. As an immigrant you change your GC first and THEN change everything else.

I am planning to apply for my US Citizenship early next year. I believed I am qualified because I came here 2007. I just hold it back because I got divorced from my first husband who petitioned me. I was hoping I will not pay 650 to change my last name in my green card then pay 750 to apply for citizenship.

More states are tying the immigration documents to the DL, and scanning in the documents to the DL system, if USCIS expires so does the DL.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

If you're nearly eligible/ready to apply for citizenship, you can change your name when you do that. There's a space on the form that says 'do you want to change your name'? You don't need to get a whole new greencard first unless you want your name changed RIGHT NOW.
