Breadmaker, without a doubt. Lots of great things in America, but bread definitely isn't on the list. :)

Ah, i so need to get a bread maker.

I like all of the fountain drinks and food at gas stations. it's not really what i would call great food but it's a hell of a lot better than the gas stations in Australia, lol

lol disagree :P The fountain drinks end up making my belly sore. I'm not sure why :( And the food... man it's been years so all I remember is there is a restaurant at the BP near my home town so they work for me... expensive but my mum used to work there so I'd get burgers... mmmm with bacon and cheese and tomato sauce.. mmm and fried dim sims. My brother liked the egg salad sandwiches as well :D

OH, you've got a good point, those types of gas stations are the best!!! i always used to get take out from one near my Mum's house. They were starting to get kinda rare where i was though. I have the biggest craving for chips and gravy now...with chicken salt, lots of chicken salt :/

I didn't like all of the gas stations in the city (Adelaide) the food and drinks were always expensive and the food was pretty pitiful, not a lot of choice either. I like that here you can get a humongous drink for about a dollar :)

A bread maker is a waste of money. A KitchenAid blender and an oven is all you need.

Yes, and in the car it's a blessing too. Ours didn't work for a few days. That's about the only time I've complained about slow traffic here :)

It has gone downhill for Mrs. Fields cookies since discovering that wonder machine, is my own personal experience.

It's worth it in my opinion. You do have to move the dough into a pan and put it in the oven (as opposed to the bread machine) but the mixer can prepare so much more than a bread machine ever could.

Mrs, says dishwasher and dryer.
Si man, but is the purpose, importance, and care of the lint-trap a permanent mystery that requires your own constant vigilance?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I will agree with British accent. Though little do they know it's a horrid mishmash of Ballymena (I can't say Northern Irish because Ballymena is rather special case) and a bit of Scottish. And to think I was the butt of many jokes with the accent in Scotland/England!

Taking a little time to think of what else I have actually gotten since I have been here that is the single most important thing. I can't say the closest Borders because they closed it. I can't say GPS because it's virtually impossible to get lost when everything is a grid pattern.

Probably my Fox soccer/soccer plus subscription (and the DVR), since going to Old Trafford is the one big thing I miss from home. At least I still get to see every game. I'll settle for that

my British accent also gets me a smack round the head from jenni... especially when all the checkout girls in the grocery store in Danielsville all want to serve me lol

Cracks me up when hubby comes home and tells me about the checkout girls and tries his hand at a southern accent---"Ah jus luuuvv yor ack-say-ant".

His latest thing when a checkout person gushes over the accent and says "Where are you from?", he answers "Houston".
