Here is the story, I filled I-751 on Oct 15 and got an appointment for bio matric on Nov 28th. After that I haven’t got anything in the mail from USICS. My residency card is expiring on Jan 21st. What should I do next… is it normal that they can take that long sometime.

Processing times are 6 months most people have waited much longer.

Your NOA1 is a 1 year extension letter - right now you just wait nothing for you to do as you are inside processing times.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thank you very much! So that mean I can renew my license for one more year by showing that at dmv?

Depends on the DMV you will have to ask them their policy sorry all of them are different so cant answer that really.

We're all in the same boat. Just waiting and waiting and waiting.

I got a full 5 year driving license in Mass. Do some states only give a conditional driving license until you get the 10 year green card?

A lot of states are in the process of switching, or have just recently switched to only giving out driver's licenses good for the duration of whatever documents you show them. For example if you show an EAD, you get a one year license. If you show a conditional GC, you get a 2 year license, etc.

I personally slipped in just under the wire with Utah. I got a full 5-year license in late November of the year I moved here, and the following January they changed to this policy and I would have only been able to get a 2-year license if I had waited.

Trust me, there is a bit of a wait coming your way. I filed in July and haven't heard anything since then. And honestly, I don't want to hear from them, for if its anything before the 6 month mark, it might be an interview or an RFE. Hang on tight and wait it out. Its perfectly normal for VSC is slow. You can take your extension letter to the DMV with your expired card and they'll renew it based on that. Atleast, thats what they normally do, unless its some guy who woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day and just wants to give a hard time. Good Luck!
