Hi all,

I just got NOA2 on Jan 6 and I want to prepare for NVC steps now. As I know from VJ, I have to wait for few weeks to get case number assigned. After I have case number and IIN, can my husband just log in and pay AOS bill and IV bill or I have to wait for NVC to send me bills? I have attorney so I dont need to send DS-3032 form. Does NVC give me (beneficiary) case number and IIN when I call them or they just disclose that info to my husband and my attorney?

Another question, at the interview, can I just submit tax return transcripts or I need to submit 1040 and W2 coz I will order tax transcripts for NVC step.

Thanks for your help.

Congratulations on NOA2.

If you're eager to get this thing as fast as you can, start preparing your IV package and i-864 package.

In addition, call the NVC everyday and talk to an operator. Provide them with the names and dates of birth of petitioner and beneficiary AND your USCIS receipt number.

When a CASE ID becomes available, they'll provide you with both CASE ID and INVOICE ID NUMBER (Ask for both). when that happens, provide them with both your email addresses for future corresponding.

DO NOT RELY ON THE AUTOMATED VOICE SYSTEM. Talking to an operator, you'll make them manually assign you a CASE ID. If you don't call them, it may take weeks until they do it by themselves.

Good Luck to us all!

Thanks for your help.

First, be ready to wait about a month to get your case and IIN number, unless they're getting faster in January. Then, the operators will give these numbers to you and your husband, doesn't matter. If you provide both your email addresses, all correspondance sent to one has a CC to the other.

Second you'll have to wait for the bills to be invoiced before you can pay them. You cannot possibly pay them on the payment portal before: you can't select them.

Finally, if you have tax return transcripts, then you don't need to submit 1040 and W2. It's one or the other. But that's going to be in your file sent by the NVC to the embassy. Take a copy with you at the interview to be safe, but you won't be expected to submit something new at that time, unless they think you need a join sponsor.

Come to the January NVC filers thread, there are very helpful people there :)
