I live in suburbia and the only wildlife that poses any kind of threat to humanity are the deer that don't know how to get the fukc out of the way when a car is coming.

Several animals can and do prey on humans. To reassure readers and promote conservation efforts, it is frequently stated that these animals only prey on humans when they are hungry and there is nothing else available, but this isn't always the case. Animals that have been reported to attack and/or prey on humans for food include three of the four big cats (lion, tiger, and leopard; jaguars are not known to eat people, but will attack them if disturbed), the American Black Bear, the polar bear (world's largest land predator), wolves (especially the Grey Wolf), jackals, large crocodiles and alligators (especially the Saltwater and Nile Crocodile), large sharks (especially the Great White Shark, tiger shark, and bull shark), and the Komodo dragon. link

i'll side with humanity on this one.

We had a teacher killed and eaten by wolves in Chignik (about a three hour snowmobile ride from here) two winters ago. She was some yuppie from back east fresh out of college that got the offer to pay off her student loan if she came to Alaska and taught school for a few years out in the Bush. Everyone here was warned including her not to travel alone on foot/ski's/snowshoes for the fact the wolves were bad that year and had just crossed the river for the first time in years. So whats she do? She goes cross country skiing out on the tundra wearing a sony walkman with headset. Wolves always attack from behind and they go for the hamstring. She never even heard them coming. They hamstrung her and then proceeded to rip her throat out. They found her two days later half eaten.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I'm thinking so. It seems like every time up here someone gets eaten by a bear (which happens a lot up here every year), it's always one of those granola's from the lower 48 on a sight seeing trip and/or back packing trip to become one with nature. I mean those bears feast on yuppie joggers running in bear country and greenies trying to show that bears won't eat you if you don't bother them. Someone should have told them that Alaska Polar and Brown bear don't know of any enemies...they are on the top of the food chain. Apparently that important bit of info never made it to places like California and Seattle.

A 9mm would bounce of the bears skull..literally. Best way to get bear up here is wait for the public landfill to close, and then pull up after hours after cutting the lock on the gate. Half rack of beer, high powered rifle (.300 mag. in my case), a large tarp, tie downs, battery powered sawzall, a winch or come-along and rigging. Usually you don't have to wait too long until they come loping along the landfill road looking for food. Then you just roll down your window and blast them. Works like a charm, and nobody but fish and game cares for the fact they are over populated here anyways.
