Did you send just the check and the petition and no evidence?

Usually they deny it and you lose your money

sometimes they give you an RFE

Sometimes they are kind and reject it and send everything back to you to resubmit.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

Reading the guide here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide and the instructions for the I-129F from the USCIS website here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf tell you exactly what you needed to send with the petition. If you only sent the form and a check, then you could either A) have it rejected and returned to you, B) be sent an RFE or C) have your check cashed, wait months and then be denied for lack of evidence.

I have seen a few cases of people doing this recently here on VJ, and they all had option C) happen to them. They lost their $340 and were denied.

uSCIS is so busy nowadays that they don't bother looking through what is submitted. They just turn the first page of your application, grab the check and send you NOA1. They are very good at that, TAKING your money.

Then several months after, when your case is adjudicated, they will go through all your submitted documents and send you either a RFE or flat deny.
