NVC Case ID assigned

Hi All,

I wanted to share my experience and see whether it is a known practice of NVC or not.

As you can see in my timeline, my i-130 was approved on Dec 07, 2011. I've been calling the NVC automatic voice service on a daily basis since then with nothing new: "We have no record of your file..."

after two weeks I sent an inquiry which was replied saying my petition was received but no Case ID yet.

After another two weeks (one month total) I sent a second inquiry which was replied saying they have NOT received my case from USCIS and asked me to scan my NOA2 and email them. (I did that)

In addition, it looked extremely strange that these two emails contradicted one another, so I decided to talk to an operator the other day. The operator was very nice and after I provided her with my identification information, she was happy to provide me with a case ID, IIN, and beneficiary ID.

What's interesting is that according to my case ID, I can tell you it was generated at the moment I talked to the operator. The last three digits were 002 and I called them at about 0730 EST so it make sense I was the second one that day, and the date as notified by the voice service is the exact date of my call with the operator.

The moral is that this voice service means nothing at this stage. If I had known, I would have called and talked to an operator every day instead of relying on their voice service.

B.T.W What's Beneficiary ID?

IDan,

Lately everyone has been waiting about a month or more to get their case number so you are right on track.

Call the operator back and get your IIN number-Invoice Identification number (you need this to pay NVC fees online)

Also give them both email addresses so you can get communication from them they need papers or payment.

Email them the DS 3032 NOW.

Good Luck

And yes-always call the NVC operator everyday. Do not rely on the AVR

I just noticed you got a Beneficiary ID number so you must be able to file online???

So, the 3032 may not be used in that system.

I got a beneficiary ID too, but I can't file online for France, so I don't really know what it's for...

Calling everyday is a must, everybody here told me, but I experienced it myself: one day I called, and was told it could take 2 more weeks to get a case number and I should only call 10 days later. The next day, I called again, and I got my case number!

Everyone is assigned a BIN number but only the online filers need it.

I am in Egypt and we do not use that number

So, if Isreal is not an online filing sysytem then ignore the BIN and

make sure NVC has BOTH emails addresses

Then email a DS-3032 to nvcinquiry@state.gov ...I think that is right

You should get an immediate auntmatic reply that the 3032 was sent to nvc-thats how you know it was sent

Then go to the payment portal and start paying fees and sending forms.

And you should really get on that sit I gave. They are a wealth of information.

Hey Everybody,

Thanks for your replies. Israel is not an online filler so I will just ignore the BIN.

I already have my IIN, but I can't pay anything for the time being.

I do have a question though about the DS-3032. After I provided the operator with my email address, she told me NOT to send DS-3032 quite yet, and LingChe's shortcuts says that without DS-3032 being generated - sending the it is useless.

I'm not sure whether to wait for their email or send it ASAP. I don't want to mess things up in the process by sending it too early.

I don't think that's correct, because I received the AOS invoice and the DS3032 form by email at the same time. They were generated together. I received both the day after I got the case number by the way, so I didn't have to wonder too long about when I should send the DS3032 email

there's some internal trigger at NVC,

where

when the IIN and AOS fee bill are sent out in email to the Petitioner,

the gate is open at NVC to skim emails and throw them into the casefile.

The important email for them to skim, in yer case, would be the DS-3032 form data.
