Hey guys! I am currently on an F-1 student visa. My husband and I married in June of last year. I am still on my visa but we are wanting to apply for a change of my status to a green card. Can someone please help in telling me all the forms I need to fill out? I have been reading but I am really confused and dont want to send the wrong ones. Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

That guide has pretty much all the information you'll need. My suggestion is for you to familiarize yourself with that guide and the instructions, download and read all the forms and instructions related to the process, and then after that keep asking questions if something seems unclear. It's easier to ask more specific questions about the process once you have an overall idea about what AOS is about.

03/03/2011 - Day 0 - AOS -package mailed to Chicago Lockbox

03/04/2011 - Day 1 - AOS -package signed for at USCIS

03/09/2011 - Day 6 - E-mail notification received for all petitions

03/10/2011 - Day 7 - Checks cashed

03/11/2011 - Day 8 - NOA 1 received for all 4 forms

03/21/2011 - Day 18 - Biometrics letter received, biometrics scheduled for 04/14/2011

03/31/2011 - Day 28 - Successful walk-in biometrics done

05/12/2011 - Day 70 - EAD Arrived, issued on 05/02

06/14/2011 - Day 103 - E-mail notice: Interview letter mailed, interview scheduled for July 20th

07/20/2011 - Day 139 - Interview at Federal Plaza USCIS location

07/22/2011 - Day 141 - E-mail approval notice received (Card production)

07/27/2011 - Day 146 - 2nd Card Production Email received

07/28/2011 - Day 147 - Post-Decision Activity Email from USCIS

08/04/2011 - Day 154 - Husband returns home from abroad; Welcome Letter and GC have arrived in the mail

("Resident since" date on the GC is 07/20/2011

Thankyou. That is a lot more clear. I do have a few specific questions if anyone wouldnt mind answering. 1. Do you send the i-130 first and then the i-485 or can you send them together? 2) on The i-485 form in the second section when it says I am applying for adjustment of status because and then gives options. What did you guys put because I do not feel like any of the options apply to me.

The I-130 you are filing with it will make an immigrant visa number available to you immediately. You need a visa number to be available to you in order to adjust. Just trust me. This is a common question and the answer is long.

8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

You send everything together to the Chicago Lockbox address. Most commonly people seem to write two separate checks - one for $420 for the I-130 and another for $1070 for I-485 plus biometrics fee. That's what we did, and didn't have any problems.
