Yes, but try to keep your old passport as it may have stamps from visits in it they want to see at interview.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I never been outside of My country & there still 2years on my old passport ,just i tought its much better have Biometric passport in case I got Us Visa

You will have to check with your passport office in your country. Some countrys do not allow passport renewal if there is still a lot of time left valid on the passport. Check your countrys passport page to get your information.

It really doesn't matter if you have a biometric passport or a regular passport. Either one will support a visa stamp. Both are valid passports types.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

In my country its not probleme even if there is still my old passport is valide till 2013 .U know in case you are in Usa and your passport is expired it will be much expensive travel where your ambassy is & its cost much money wasting time .Sotghat is why i said itys much better have my biometric passport as its is vailde for 5years .The only worry i had and have now it the us consulate
