I suggest the email cause I seen too many people denied when they request over the phone

You are relying on some call center person to put everything important down and they usually leave out important stuff

It is less of a matter of a person on the phone being able to do anything, and more about the fact that the email request is made and forwarded to the proper channels. All expeditious processing is always decided by the embassies as they are the ones who make final decisions on cases. The requests are forwarded to the NVC, but the decision is always made by the embassy. People on the phone are there to help with paperwork questions, not to make a decision on the validity of how dangerous a situation might be or if it warrants an expedite. The request doesn't hurt the case so if anyone is ever in doubt just send the request. The worst that can happen is it is rejected and you have to wait like everyone else. Honestly, no request is stupid. If there is ever any issue that you might think warrants an expedite, request it...and send any paperwork attached to the email that can help reinforce whatever the situation ie proof of medical emergency, military deployment, etc.

So sorry for this situation.... hang in there.. you did the right thing by trying.. the worst they can do is say no ...

We called USCIS asked for expedite request after 4 months of being at USCIS and got a reference number and a few days later received email of expedite approval but it still took several weeks to approve the i130

So hopefully you will hear something soon... Good luck to you

Reina I have been waiting for an update!!!

And now I see you got the NOA2 on the 24th

So, did the expedite get approved or did you just get the NOA2?

CONGRATS!!!!!

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!
