well, right now people are waiting over 30 days just to get a case number from NVC.

then the timeframe is all on you.

Did you get all your documents and a copy of each to send to nvc?

Are you ready?

Some people are at NVC 10 days(rare)

and some people have been there over 1 year.

I think normal is about 8-10 weeks plus the time it takes to get a case number

The time it takes to get a case number changes. I have seen a few days but since July I have seen up to 66 days.

I got my NOA2 sept 30th.

took 19 days to get a case number

I flew thru NVC in 13 days

I had everything in an envelope and ready for NVC by the time I had a case number.

Please read LingChe's shortcuts to NVC to get an idea of what you need to have ready.

Good Luck

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

I think the key is to be proactive and prepared for the next step, good idea to read Ling-Che's shortcuts. I am interested now and will read them.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

well, the cool thing about casefiles at NVC, headed to Guangzhou

is

if you really wish to remain a 'paper-casefile' at NVC

regardless of the speed you get at NVC utilising Ling Che's shortcuts...

you've still got to wait another 1 to 5 months after NVC before any appointment is set, due to silly China-USA treaty about DoS paperwork.

so

irrespective of any lag at NVC...

IF you choose Electronic Processing, OPT IN for this process at NVC -

yer lass can get interviewed about a 10 weeks after you start NVC processing.

EP rocks - get some soonish?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

EP of course is the plan, to do anything else would be silly going to GUZ, no?

That said, I'm hearing terrible reports of it taking _at least_ a month to get into NVC. That is to say before you even have your GUZ case number and can start the process to convert to EP. Given the hideous delays out of CSC, that is really not a good thing. :crying:

I know it's not what you want to hear but it took me 36 days to get a case number. :(

After that though, the AOS was invoiced and DS3032 generated within 1 day.

It's not entirely up to you as you'll have to wait for them to invoice the fees and review your packages, but once you get the case #, you're really almost done with the waiting game. If you have all your docs and forms ready.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it seems we're no where near done waiting. We're at 162 days waiting for the NOA2 and can get nothing out of CSC but lies and excuses. Unfortunately, what you and others are saying is that once we're out of the hell of CSC we'll have even more months to wait to get through NVC :crying:

It could be done in 2 months maybe, 1 waiting, but the other one actually sending forms and paying fees, at least doing something, which is a lot less frustating IMO.

Ya, that handoff into NVC, alas, varies over time.

I've read about it happening within a week, I've read about it happening at 6 weeks. This one queue varies, over time.

CSC has been known to get it in, in a reasonable amount o time. The duration between CSC out and NVC logged still varies. and it mondo sucks.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

In my case, it took 37 days from NOA2 to case number from the NVC. Once you have that case number and successfully OPTIN to EP, things will move lightning fast. If you haven't already done so, take a look at my EP thread in the China forum.
