Good websites for International airlines

Since no one has mentioned it yet, I really like tripadvisor. They have a really useful mobile app, you can book flights directly from the app, search specific carriers, look at a calendar of prices associated with certain dates. I usually wait until one month before flying to actually buy the ticket (price drop), especially if it's not a touristy route. Check the price on tripadvisor, then I book directly from airline website (Delta lately) for the miles. Honduras always has two main international airports, one is usually at least $100 less than the other depending on the direction of the wind (or politics)

Also, this isn't something you can plan for, but you can sign up for email updates from the US embassy in your target country. Last year, I got an update warning against international travel when Bin Laden was killed, prices PLUMMETED, even to Central America.

-similar with severe weather, elections, etc.

My fiance used Travelocity when we were arranged meeting in Singapore. They do have best prices at all.

hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions for good websites that specialize in international travel.I didnt have any luck on the websites for the major carriers, BA, uNITED, DELTA cONTINENTAL ETC.I even tried search engines like orbitz and best travel strore.

For flights from East Africa, some of the airlines like Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways can be cheaper. You might have to fly to New York and then get a connection from there, which would probably have to be booked separately. I booked a ticket from Tanzania with Turkish at half the price of BA or KLM. East Africa is usually more expensive than West, I think.

Farecompare.com is really good as well because it shows you the price difference based on days of the week surrounding your desired travel date. It also allows you to get references from multiple search engines, (expedia, kayak, onetravel, etc).

Hurricanes and other "disasters" have same effect. Even when the area affected is far form where you are going. For exmaple, after a hurricane in Cancun, virtually all flights into Mexico were pennies on the dollar. After the Avian Flu scare (in reality 2 cases) in Mexico too, it was almost unbelievable.

Many times there is no 'disaster' to speak off, just media spin.
