Where it asks for present address my wife has put there where she is living but all her documents are tied to what she calls a more permanent address. It's an address of a relative and she did live there for awhile. I told her to get her police clearance certificate from the closest police station from where she lives but they have seen that different address on her other documents and told her she must get it from there. I need to know if this could be a problem and if so what I need to do. I already used her current address where she is living for the I-130 petition. I'm hoping all they want with her address is just to send her mail through snail mail anyway but if they catch this difference it worries me they might mistakenly think fraud it something.

the only way I can see this is on a phone. Here my timeline as I can best remember it. June 24 they got my I-130 in CA. Nov 10 they sent me an email saying it was approved. About Dec 7 NVC gave me a case #. About Dec 12 I had the 3032 form sent and all fees paid. About a week ago they got my I-864. That's the best I can do fer ya. Not gonna risk my job by accessing this on a work computer. Dont really feel like hitting a library. I also don't feel real comfortable giving a country name due to privacy reasons. If that's of importance to the answer of my question perhaps I can email it to you or something. Really I just need a good answer from someone that is knowledgeable.

Are you working on your DS-230? The police record is to the city and only if lived more than 6 months since age 16. Is the 2 addresses in different cities? You had to list where she lived the last five years on the G-325A also. Make sure they match. Get police reports from all of those cities.

I'm not sure what country she is in. If they do a background check on her, what addresses will show up?

You are paranoid! I don't know what company you work at. If you can get to this site, you can spend some time here.

Hey thanks a lot for your reply. I'm sorry if I come off as paranoid. Don't mean to seem that way. Of course if I do lose my source of income she's not coming! As for the country it's one I don't see here mentioned a whole lot and it's not that I care that anyone here knows. Far from it. Paranoid of my nosy ex-wife on that front. She has been in the same city for over 5 years. It's a very large city, one of the largest in the world. I will have to check about the G-325. So many forms and acronyms to remember. It's getting to be confusing.

i ask about the country,

because many folk elsewhere maintain a permanent address and work 2 to 11 months of the year elsewhere. or are in a live-in dorm at a university, but maintain a permanent address elsewhere.

It becomes important when doing silly stuff like taxes, id card, passport, health benefits in that country - as 'that country' has 'some address' on that person.

So, use the address tied to her id card - if more than 6 months at any ONE residence, use the address ALSO where the rental was paid.

hth !
