Hi guys! hope you all had a wonderful holidays! I just received a letter from USCIS and stating that they transferred my case I-485 at the California Service Center is this a good news or a bad news? for those who experienced this does your case processed faster when they transferred or no? I was just wondering how many more days, weeks or months you waited when transferred your case? Hope I'll get an answer from all of you guys and especially for those who experienced this. thanks much and god bless us all!

When your case is transferred to the CSC it means that USCIS felt your application could be approved without interview and/or your current field office is backlogged. It is becoming more common. Please be aware however that your case could still be sent back from CSC to your local office where you will have an interview. By transferring your case to the CSC it should generally mean faster processing times, however for your case in particular, it is too early to say whether it will be a good or bad thing (I mean this in terms of how much time you will be waiting, I am in no way implying you will have problems with your case). Some people get approved within a month or less while other's like myself have been waiting 2 1/2 months (11 weeks) without a word since it has been transferred, almost 3 1/2 months since initial filing. I am however still well within the CSC processing times and many people have been waiting longer than I have. Another way to get through the wait is by comparing it to your local office processing times. I know that even if it takes me 4months to get approved from the CSC, that is considerably faster than if it got sent to my local office which is currently taking 6 months to approve cases. However if your local field office on average is processing cases in a 4 month time frame and it takes 6 months to get approval from CSC then it kind of defeats the object. What I'm trying to say is its all relative.

But as others have said, this is good news for you.

Most cases that are transferred to CSC bypass interview, that's good news! The process took us 3 months to process to the end.

mine was transferred to CSC on 26 Sept. I got the EAD in November I think. But no news on the GC yet. I guess it is because of the holiday reason therefore the process is slowing down a bit?

I called USCIS customer service on 9 January (I am not sure this 4 months' processing time is counted since the transfer date or filing date--I filed on 2nd Sept). Anyway, it says that I should call after 180 days to check for an update.

I guess I would just not to worry too much and wait for the result. I got the travel doc and will fly back home country for the postponed cultural wedding reception :)

We will all be fine! good luck to us all~
