Hello

I'm giving an update on our case and interview

We were called to give out the PC, Medical Records and his passport, right there were instructed to go to window 13 for his fingerprints. Then after that we were called to window 19 for the actual interview.

The CO sword us in, he told my hubby to sign a paper (the DS 230) then he asked me if he has any kids, i said yes, how many? I answerd, the names? i also answerd.

Then he left, came back (and I saw the green piece of paper) , he came back and gave us a green page saying it was under Administrative Process.

I asked him why, he said he couldn't tell me.

a week after that i called in the embassy and they say it is under investigation.

We are soooo confused, we are not sure what does that means, so sad, emotional and angry...

Can someone please tell me what can I do?

Did your husband get asked any questions?

Are his children very young?

Did he start a relationship with you immediately after or during the birth of any of his children?

Are you positive you answered the questions 100%?

Did you and your husband speak to each other after and go over everything that was asked/answered?

Try to give more info so we can help you possibly figure out why this happened. I'm not sure why they didn't tell you at that moment the reason for the investigation but the good side is that it was not denied. If the worst thing that happens is that you stay in AP for 4-6 months and then there's an approval....then it will be great.

But in the meantime, give more detail so we can figure this out

Unfortunately, N&V, unless they are missing documentation which you must provide, there is nothing you can do to figure out why you're in AP or how long it will take to resolve.

We were also stunned to be put into AP at his interview. They did not give us any reason either.

AP is a blanket term for whatever they want to do, and they can take mere days or several months. Believe me, it won't help much to beat yourself up over what you could have, should have, or would have done differently, because even if you know exactly, it won't change the fact you're in AP now, and they can take as long as they want. I'm very sorry.

Call weekly for updates, regularly ask if there's anything you need to submit, and just try very hard to bear through this.

Did your husband get asked any questions?

*he did not asked him any questions

Are his children very young?

* his youngest is turning 4 this month, and we are together 2years and 7months ago

Did he start a relationship with you immediately after or during the birth of any of his children?

*nope. he had broken up with the mother of his kids,

Are you positive you answered the questions 100%?

*yup, I know his kids, names and everything

Did you and your husband speak to each other after and go over everything that was asked/answered?

*yes we did, we were in shoked...because they didn't separated us , the interview lasted 2 minutes

Ok, so they apparently have questions about something else. The embassy probably won't get anymore updates for a while so if you call you won get info. But it sounds like they just want to look a little deeper and everything will be fine. There's a couple of other girls in the DR portal that went into AP and after like 4 months they were approved and good to go.

Don't get too sad about it. DR is not a forgiving embassy at all.. If they didn't want to give the visa, they would have denied it right there and then. So just wait .... it may take a few months but the time will pass fast and he'll be with you before you know it.

thank you so much for this support, it means a lot, specially when you have no answers or any additional information...

where should I call? the Dominican Embassy or NVC?

thanks

Dont call the embassy...they are 100% useless. They get updates every 4-6 weeks so they will have no current info for you. NVC will not have anymore information either as the case is out of their hands. The only option you have to call now is the Visa Specialists. They may not be able to tell you exactly what's wrong but they can possibly give you some answers.

Yeah, believe it or not I'm taking it one day at a time..meaning that I'm not driving myself crazy..everything happens for a reason, God has everything in his hands and I truly believe in our love.

the only thing is that I thought today I was going to wake up by his side :(

thank you girl for your advices and your concerned about my situation...
