My financees mom's first name is mispelled by one letter. Just wondering if we have will to refile for a new birth certificate which could take 6 months to a year :(

I have hopes that since my financee's information is correct, it might not require such a drastic procedure.

I am the petitioner and I had exactly the same scenario, my mom's name is Gober and my birth certificate says Jober. It hasn't created in issues. My fiance is now here in the U.S. and we are married.

You are the petitioner and this was your mom ? This is the beneficiary in the Philippines and this is her mom. Please explain our differences. All my fiancee's documents birth certificate, NSO, Passport are incorrectly spelled for her moms first name.

If this is your beneficiary your are talking about, what did you put down the incorrect spelling or the correct spelling ?

It's fine you mean they don't care that there one parent's first name is mispelled with a letter in error ? Which name should we put on the 156 and all the other supporting documents? All of her information states the mispelled name. We are trying to resolve this. Please explain further so I can sleep tonight :crying:

I am not really sure if its fine that she follow what is on her passport for less pain,If you will go through clerical error it takes me 7months for process then need lot of documentations,I have same case I'm beneficiary, mine 1 letter of my last name and 3 letters on my Dad's last name was corrected, then after that I apply for passport. Down under my birth stated all errors are corrected.Luckily i found it years now before this K-1 process.
