B2 Visa denied, want to use ESTA

ESTA is usually denied, not always.

And I do not know why some are and some are not.

I am going to guess in this case the same reason you were put in AP.

I agree with you. Probably it is the same thing.

What REALLY bothers me is not knowing for sure what placed me in AP. The CO said "common name", but I am not sure of that. Nothing special was required. She did not keep my passport, gave me a yellow slip explaining what AP is and section 221(g) of the INA. All communication with the Consulate was answered with plain and simple automatic replies. And 90 days have passed this way!
