I love South Park but I've always been curious what Canadians think of it seeing as it's not very nice to you! Do you see the funny side or are you offended or do you just not think it's funny?

I know this has nothing to do with immigration but I don't know any Canadians so this is the only place I can ask!

I'm with Inky. I watch this show all the time and laugh a lot at their Canadian jokes.

Even on the video game I play (World of Warcraft), I'm the only Canadian in our "guild", and they tell Canadian jokes all the time, and I absolutely love it.

I take no offense at that stuff. As long as it's a joke, I laugh.

Found it hilarious!! Loved the Simpsons episode when Homer went to Winnipeg. If ya can't laugh at yourself, then who can you laugh at! I think for the most part, Cdns can take a pretty good joke! Have you ever seen thew show This Hour has 22 minutes?? Love it! Quite often get the Prime Minister on there, doing silly skits!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

'South Park' is actually a county (Park County) in Colorado, not far from Denver (both writers actually went to school in Denver). If you want the 'South Park experience', visit Fairplay, an actual town in the South side of Park county which resembles South Park the show quite well.

I love it when American shows make fun of Canada- it makes me smile :) How about Robin on How I Met Your Mother? They even went to Tim Hortons in one episode, and she's shown regularly hanging out at a bar called Hoser Hut! Actually, there was one really good episode where she debates becoming an American. She goes back to Canada only to find that she's changed a little and doesn't quite fit in with Canadians who mistake her for American, but she doesn't feel like an American either. So she decides to become a dual and says "insteasd of being a girl with no country, I'll be a girl with two!" I thought that was really sweet because so many of us have that experience of going back to Canada only to find that people say you have an accent now or you're louder or whatever yet you're a Canadian at heart.

haha. Yeah, for some reason the WoW community loves picking on the Canadians. Funny part is Jordan (Canadian Fiance) would always take part in making fun of the Canadians. I would log in and see someone telling jokes in General and I'd be like.. what an a$$ (out of defense for him)!.. then take a moment and look at the name, and be like.. wait.. thats my a$$.

He too loves Southpark.

I kinda thought Canadians would see it that way. It's nice when people aren't all uptight and can laugh at themselves. Us Scots poke fun at ourselves all the time. I don't even mind when the English do it (as long as it's actually funny).

One of my favorite episodes is when Canada goes on strike and nobody notices!

That is funny. I actually found it hilarious when I googled Casa Bonita and disclovered it is a real place and it really has all of the crazy stuff they had on the show.

I don't really watch it but it is funny and when Family Guy or the Simpsons makes fun of us I laugh. It is basically stereotypes taken to the extreme so you kind of have to laugh.

Oh and I LOVE when HIMYM does it, especially the stuff NPH says! Hilar!

That is funny. I actually found it hilarious when I googled Casa Bonita and disclovered it is a real place and it really has all of the crazy stuff they had on the show.

Yes I have watched the show since the beginning. There are a lot of Colorado references that most people wouldn't get unless you lived here. Casa Bonita is a real place and the food totally sucks too. But everyone loves going there for the stupid atmosphere. My ex-wife actually used to work there a long time ago.

They make fun of Canada the same as they make fun of Nebraska. Again, that's more of a Colorado rivalry thing that most people wouldn't really get. But as for Colorado inside jokes, there are a lot of them and a lot of the places and things they say are actually real things here.

And as mentioned they have the show based in Southern Park county which really is nothing there except Old South Park City which is now Fairplay. I have yet to see anything South Park related in the town, but I just usually get gas there while heading down to Buena Vista. Basically think of plains surrounded by mountains and elk...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
