K lived in the U.S. for a year and didn't put on any weight. (Although he claims he did). I'd be very happy to see him put some meat on his bones once he's here permanently. He's lucky if he hits 115 lbs. on the scale. Seriously, the man is a toothpick!

His complaints about the U.S. standards of food are that they don't compare to the freshness that you find in India, especially the vegetables. Also the concept of "leftovers" are unheard of in India. Fresh ingredients are bought daily.

I am the petitioner.

When i lived in the US in 2006/2007 i lost 20 or more pounds because i didnt eat almost at all. i was so scared to gain weight even if i would not eat more than at home but because the food is made differently here and the lack of moving here....

Well i guess i was right because now i am here for not even 2month and i am at 155 pounds beeing only 167 cm(i believe thats like 5´6´´) and i can honestly say that i dont eat much but WRONG i guess :( i am on a diet now and trying to hit the gym on the regular

I love the Mexican food they have here in the Los Angeles area.. YUM! we didn't really have Mexican food where I was from in Canada.. Only Mexican food we ate were those package kits you bought in the store that came with the shells and the seasoning packets :P

oh please, when i first came here to be an exchange student, i got ahold of a big box of Krispy Kream doughnuts the first week and that was the end of it ahah, i gained over 40 pounds my exchange year, then went home to Russia and lost it all in a month just about.

now, after living here for so long, i finally adjusted to the food and potions and i finally got burnt out on all the junk that we dont have back in Russia, so i am in a normal shape, not overweight, but could still be skinnier ahah

i agree, mexican is the best!.. well second best to japanese :)

I gained about 45 pounds in the first 8 or 9 months I was here... it wasn't like I was overeating but I did eat out a lot more then I used to back home.. but after that initial weight gain I didn't gain anymore.. then back in 2010 I lost those 45 pounds... I still could stand to lose a few more pounds though :P

After reading I remembered why I lost weight. The food was not as good, fast food was awful compared to here, chocolate was a joke really, even Coke tastes different. So I just cut most of that out. Plus with no snow it is easier to be outside and walking a lot!
