My husband got his visa approval the first part of December - was handed a paper that said Congratulations and enjoy your life in America.

2 weeks later we called to ask why he had not received his visa yet - I also wrote the Embassy and ask. He was told "Don't worry, everything is

ok, it's in final processing. The response to my letter said, Please note that his visa is in final processing. I wrote again last week because we

still have not received it - and today I got a response from the Embassy that said - This case is still under review, as soon as the review process

is completed you will be notified immediately. Can someone PLEASE tell me what this means??? I am so lost as to how to proceed with life

now...... :( Thank you.

First, Congrats on your approval!

It sounds like it is under the final CO review. Counselor review.

But maybe you should ask specific questions.

Is my husband under AP-administrative or Additional Processing?

Is my husband under AR-Administrative Review?

Is my husband under CR-Counselor review?

Those question will get you better answers. But from both the responses you got it sounds like it is just CR.

and hopefully within 2 weeks you will get the passport back.

AP can take 1 month to years (background checks in washington usually. Name checks and stuff)

AR is AP but done at the embassy (i think)

CR is at the embassy and on the counselor desk just waiting for his stamp. So keep calling and make sure they do not put your file under the stack and they do not forget about you.

Good Luck

Thank you "TFE" for your reply. They always send you a "response notice" telling you that they will respond to your mail in a certain

amount of time. In this note it does say, If you are under "AP" we will NOT reply to your mail, but they have been replying. I have ask

for the specifics, and today is the first time they wrote it is still under review, but I was unaware that after your visa is approved that there

was more to do. I thought once you get a visa approval, they stamp it and your on your way...... My husband was told on the phone

not to worry, that everything is ok. So I guess it is just waiting for the stamp from the counselor then?? I have ask what "kind" of processing

is being done, and been told final and review process...this was the first note...

Kindly note that your husband’s case under final processing, we hope the visa will be issued soon, as soon as the visa is issued we will send him his passport along with his visa via Aramex.
