The London Embassy sent me a letter requesting for DS-230 part 1, 2 x DS-156, DS-156k, 2 x DS-157 and the checklist DS-2001. I've spent all day doing them- but do I need all the evidence (police report, proof of on-going relationship etc) that goes with the DS-156k in this packet, or do I just need to gather it and take it for the interview? I am calling the london doctors tomorrow also for an appointment, should I inform the embassy of the appointment date?

and when do I pay the $350- when I have an interview date?

sorry for all the questions, I've just confused myself a bit =S

HI and good luck on the rest of your process.

I do not know the answers because it is specific to London.

I would like to ask you to edit your timeline in your profile.

Make sure it says LONDON in 2 places---this makes your question flow to the LONDON portal so people from LONDON can answer your questions best.

SO in your profile make sure you answer

BENEFICIARY COUNTRY--as London or wherever they are from THEN.......

EMBASSY-----make sure this is marked London so it flows to the right portal

Thank you and good luck

THIS IS HOW PEOPLE GET THE FLAG UNDER THEIR NAME

Take your supporting documents to the interview for London. I think the link is still broken, but the short version for a K1 is: (the things that apply to you)

Birth Certificate (version with parent's names on it)

Adoption Certificate

Passport (with at least 8 months of validity left beyond visa date)

Termination of Prior Marriages

Military Records

Affidavit of Support (I-134 and two good proofs of income)

Police Certificates

Court and Prison Records

Photographs (2 passport style)

Translations (of anything not in English)

Read the instruction page on the website for what to include with the cover letter that goes with the DS-2001 readiness for interview form. See Step Two http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html . You can mail in the four application forms tomorrow if they're done. Then when you have all your personal documents and fiance's Affidavit of Support in hand, mail the DS-2001 and cover letter to let them know you're ready.

You will need your police certificate to take to the medical. (See a link called "Medical Examination" in the left column of the instruction page. It tells you that on that page. )

and when do I pay the $350- when I have an interview date?

Anytime before your interview. It doesn't put you ahead in line for an interview if you pay earlier. You can pay after you know the date.

There's lots of links on the London website pages that will answer many questions and sometimes confuse you more because so much is geared for the spouse visa. But give it a try and you may find some good stuff.

Thank you so much this was very helpful! so I don't need to send passport photos with the forms either? The website is helpful, I think I've just been staring at it and all the forms for too long today and got mixed up  thanks again!

Yes passport photos to interview, but they won't shoot you if you attach them. They just prefer to mess with your personal documents and organize the file just before you see the interviewer. And that way no chance of them losing your stuff.
