How to prove bonafide marriage if we never lived together?

Hi all,

I am recently engaged to my Israeli fiance, and originally we going to do the K1 visa. However, we want to marry and have the wedding in my fiance's country and not the U.S., and therefore we cannot do the K1. So, we decided to possibly get married next December, and then start the IR-1/CR-1 visa process shortly after while we both finish up school and live separately as a married couple until the visa is approved for him to come to America and he graduates with his degree (which should be around the same time). We have been in a relationship for over 2 years, most of the time it has been long distance (with the exception of the first 5 months of our relationship), visiting each other for extended vacations. I was looking at the documents needed to prove we have a bonafide marriage, and there are things like leases, insurance, bank statements, etc. with both our names. But, without living together and him not living in the U.S. yet, we can't provide that documentation. We have plenty of pictures throughout our relationship (and we would also have wedding pictures by then), Facebook messages, e-mails, plane ticket receipts when we visited each other. Would this be enough in addition to a marriage certificate to prove we have a bonafide marriage? We are just trying to figure this out all in advanced.

pictures are the best proof.and I think the most important.it depends to the CO what type of document he or she is going to ask.emails,phone records are also helpful.

Since you and your would-be spouse are not living together, you would not be expected to have such documentation.

Include copies of such evidence that you list when the petition is filed and bring it and anything else that becomes available after the petition is filed to the interview.

I was able to get my husband on my gas and electric bill and as Paid on Death for my profit sharing and my savings and checking account.. and we did that only bcos my bank wouldn't add him until he comes and has a SSN. There are some banks that will add with just the passport and notorized signature but no many will do that anymore

Can't add him to lease until he is here ...so we are waiting for that.

Just do some checking to see what you can add him to and you may find there are several ways to add him as beneficiary or as a co payer.
