Hi Everyone, I'm new at this one particular site: we are at the NVC stage, my husband is from Honduras and I'm a US Citizen... All of our documents are in the NVC and we only received one checklist request which was back on Dec. 6 so we sent in our check list, (which was my AOS, go figure when it was one of the first documents) anyway we sent it in again and the recording says that they received on Dec. 8th... We are wondering how long is it taking for the NVC to close cases for Honduras? and after the case closes, How long of an approximate wait for the interview at the embassy? for some reason it seems like this country takes longer than other countries for approvals.

It took about a month for us at NVC. But we got an RFE for birth cert and marriage cert so I had to get those from Honduras and send them to NVC. That added at least a week maybe week and a hakf for just transit time. Case compleye Nov 2, we were notified of interview date Dec 15, after callng several times. Interview will be end of Jan.

After they had all the correct documents it wad about a week for case complete.

Good luck with everything!

Thanks for the response...

Did they request the long form birth certificate and marriage certificate ?

We just sent the regular one for him, becuase we thought that they might be asking for the long form in the visa interview in Tegu...

Good for you that you have an appt. for the ending of Jan. please keep us posted...congrats

Yes, the RFE just said that those two documents had not been submitted in the correct format. So my husband went back to get the docs 'en forma literal'. According to our interview letter, the embassy has all of our required docs and he only needs to bring his passport plus evidence to the interview.
