It wasn't going well with the 9 month wait, so I did as someone else suggested and contacted the office of my congresswoman today. I was forwarded to a very nice lady who understood everything and knew what to do. She emailed me a privacy form PDF to fill out, scan and email back to her, which I did right away. Late this afternoon, the online status updated to "approved". (See, there really wasn't anything "time consuming" that needed to be done... it is just a matter of someone at VSC actually bothering to process it. Probably took them 5 minutes.)

So, now what? In the extra months of waiting, I've lost track of all the details of what needs to be done. I can handle the affidavit of support stuff just fine. There's something about getting a number from NVC or something?

Congrats on your NOA2!!!

It has been taking the NVC about a month to assign a case number and transfer it to the embassy.

But today NVC seems to have pick up a few days.

So I would start calling NVC to try and get my case number. They do not always send your file to the embassy right away. So then call NVC and ask if the file has been sent to the embassy yet.

I hope some Phillipinos come on and tell you what to do for the medical and police cert and what tax forms you will need to send in with the packets the mail you.

Good Luck

A month? Can she start doing things already like getting NBI clearance and CENOMAR? I guess the case number is needed before medical or an interview date are possible?

BTW, I updated my timeline, but it doesn't seem to be showing up. Maybe there's some server caching going on.

that is it

Now that your post will be seen by the right group of people they will better be able to tell you what you can start to do now.

And I hope NVC speeds up and gives out case numbers quicker.

Hey, can you request an expedite on USCIS error for taking longer then the processing times? I have seen some spouses use it to expedite their interview and NVC time? Just a thought

I had previously requested an expedite due to longer than normal processing times, using what USCIS calls a "service request". All that did was get a response that they'll get to it when they get to it, and to call back in another 60 days. i.e. "wait indefinitely". That was the last straw.... calling the congresswoman's office worked.

So, what puts the little flag under my name anyway? I selected Philippines.

in your timeline

put phillipines under the beneficiaries country and the embassy and the flag should come up.

I would still call nvc and ask what the process is to request an expedite but I think the phillipines get an interview pretty quick. So maybe do not rock the boat.

Oh, you meant an expedite from this point on, not an expedite for the original petition. I didn't realize that might be possible.

Do you think that 2 months from now is the likely time that the interview will end up being? If so, that's just about the right amount of time to get everything done and be ready.

This is "someone" replying; Now me going thru that long wait, like i told my fiance im happy we did because i was able to help so many others.... IM SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUUUUU!!!! i really dont understand how they could just pull the file out when they get the congressman's inquiries but in many cases it does happen. Like I said to you in your 8.5 months wait post my community liaison from the congressman's office said that lady literally pulled the file as she was on the phone with them.

I wouldnt change the time period that i got my NOA 2 for anything and helping you makes it all worth while the wait.

ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND I SINCERELY MEAN THAT!!!!

As you can see looks like my process is at an overall "regular" time from NOA1 to interview date.....weird how everything sped up from my approval....

You just made my night

Godspeed,

Now I'm even more confused... is MNL # same as NVC case number? How do I get this, or both if they are different? Which one lets my fiancee sign up for an interview? What do I do other than prepare the I-134, related forms and the documents my fiancee will need to get? Something's missing here....
