My gut feeling says that there should be a good bit of movement around June (summer). The PD's should be close to Aug-10 or so... keeping my fingers crosses!

Dear RICARDO4EVA2,

I have been staring at your brother's timeline for the past five minutes. I am assuming that his priority date is somewhere around December 2010. If that is the case, why did NVC start asking for fee payment, COA, etc. back in May???

Does this mean that his visa may be available within the next year? Isn't that why NVC starts requesting payments and documents, because a visa is about to come available???

I thought I read somewhere that if NVC starts asking for the documents is because a visa is expected to become available within a year. Maybe I dreamt it. I hope not.

Have you ever read that somewhere?

My brother has a priority date of December 30, 2010.

They asked for the COA in November 2011. The first step was approved back in May 2011.

Correct - The NVC TRIES to request information approx. 1 year before it is expected to become current when it comes to preference categories.

** My Mom had a case that is still pending and the case is still about 2 years from completion in the F3 Category. The case got to the NVC 1 year and 8 months ago which was about 2 months after the current F2A case we are working on and they have not requested anything.. COA etc. **
