I am expecting all of you to call me a dim wit LOL

I have been checking my status on the USCIS website and it has always said, 'YOUR CASE HAS NOT BEEN FOUND'. This disturbed me as I filed in Jun 2011.

Anyway, after my conversation with the straight talking USCIS lady today, she told me that I was using the wrong reference number to look it up..

She told me, and this is where I believe she thought I was as thick as doggy doo, 'you must use the APPLICATION NUMBER that is on your ASC BIO appointment letter, not the RECEIPT NUMBER on Receipt Notice...

Sure enough, she was right...... LOL

As I said, please don't laugh at me... ha ha ha

Actually I appreciate your post. We just filed and are waiting for NOA1, but I probably would have done the same thing. So, just to make sure, when I look up my case, I will use the number on the biometrics notice and not the number on the NOA1. Is that correct? Thanks!

Well thank you, because I did exactly the same thing so now I have just checked my case status using the correct number. Actually I think I made a major error when filling out the form at biometrics, it said "application receipt number#" and I wrote the number that was on my NOA1 and I think I should have put the other number on? Does anyone know and if that is wrong will that screw things up?

I forgot password and username to check my case on the USCIS website. So, after remembering the username I was stuck on trying to recall password, the answer for my hint question also. Tried a hundred different answers and now all approx 100 cartoon characters pop up in my search field as a reminder to not forget passwords again. :D

Glad you're able to follow your case now hehehe : )
