WHAT NUMBER YOU USE FOR CALL USCIS???????????????

My fiancee tried to call this number "1-800-375-5283" but she told me she could not talk to anyone!

But there are several menus but could not reach a real person "

The way I was able to speak with a customer service representative was by calling the 800 number and then selecting the options to request information about case status, but then choosing the option for a lost/unknown receipt number. In my case I had the receipt number but the USCIS web site had problems and was unable to bring up the case using the receipt number. The first person with whom I spoke screened the call and then passed me to a second level where the person could bring up more case data on the computer. This second person was able to assist by taking my additional information and submitting it by electronic means to the case review office where it would be seen (eventually) by the person handling the application.

Both people with whom I spoke were very courteous and helpful.
