Visa approved (yay!)... but something strange at my interview

I know I'm probably being paranoid, but want to get an opinion on what happened today at my interview (my K1 visa was approved, by the way! )

Towards the end of the interview (which was at the consulate in Vancouver), the consular officer said, "I have a strange question to ask you." He turned his computer screen so I could see it, and there on the screen was my passport photo and beside it a photo of a woman who really looked like me - but it wasn't me. He asked, "Is this picture you?" I said it was not me, and asked who she was. He said there was a match on the facial recognition of my passport photo, and the match was that woman. I made a joke about she being my doppelganger and he didn't seem concerned at all about it. He then finished up going through the paperwork and said, "Congratulations - you have been approved for the visa."

So...is this facial recognition match something I need to be worried about? Right now I have playing in my head that they are going to revoke the approval and deny my visa because they think I'm that woman who has been red flagged for something, or that I will have problems when it comes to AOS.

well, they took your fingerprints at the interview right? and when you AOS you'll have to do biometrics again, so I wouldn't worry about it!

Thanks, that makes me feel better. Yes, they took my fingerprints at the interview. I'm going to try not to worry... I'll sure be happy when I have my visa in hand. Thanks for your response!

Agree with the above. They also take prints and stuff. I can't say I've ever heard of them asking about it but I wouldn't worry

also, a friend of mine experienced something very similar. They found a picture of a girl that looked like her and asked if it was her...must be a strange scare tactic to debunk frauders.

Odd - but the FBI checks you go through - biometrics each step of the way etc....are a little more stringent then a facial recognition on a photo, thank goodness.

My husband has something similar in his photo software her uses....it contstantly mistakes his son and himself because they have alsmot identical face shapes and features

Yeah, like the others have said, it's nothing to be worried about. There's around seven billion people on this planet, so it stands to reason that some of those faces would be close enough to confuse software.

for clarity, call the DoS Hotline in the USA, get a Human, and inquire about casefile status.
