Since we are married in India, and my wife ( USC ) has not returned to USA for last over 2 years. Due to that reason, it was not possible for her to change the name while she is in India.

All of sudden, my father-in-law was concerned to see her daughter, as her parents haven't seen her for over 2 years, and they dont want to wait as they are not sure about how much time is left on the earth for them. Yes, they are old. Which I truly understand their concern and life is not predicted. It happened 2 days before my interview date came as they thought that my interview can be delayed alot and it could delay alot for them to see her daughter. Due to this emergency my USC wife has to return to USA in next few days.

Since all paper work was done with her passport name, and my case is already schedule for interview next month. Do you think if it would be good idea if she process to change her last name to my name once she gets in USA in next few days? And after that, she may send a scan of her doc with changed name, so I can bring that at the time of interview.

Or do you think if this process can make a hold for my interview process? Please suggest me what is the best solution for this situation.

Beside that, I also would like to know, what does she require in US to change the last name? and where she needs to submit the application?

Thank you and appreciate your help!
