Practically everyone's K1 NOA expires, don't worry about it at all - they artificially extend it and you don't have to do anything. They do not send you a new one either. It's their slowness in their processes that take so long.

my approval was in November ( well reaffirmed approval) and we had sent some documents back in december then again i got a package in late january or early february? we ended up having our interview in montreal march 30th.

all noa2's expire. however the consulate automatically renews them so i would not worry. what you can do is call NVC and see if they sent it off to montreal and when. I'm not sure if they still send it by DHL or not but it used to be you could track it from NVC to the Consulate by doing a few tricks. However a few things have changed so i'm not sure if that would still work.

Now correct me if i'm wrong but aren't all the packets now on the consulate website and done online now? i know back when i did it it wasn't but i thought i had read some recent threads saying it was all online.

Yes all the packets information is online and that is where everyone has been downloading them from. Not sure why but the trend seems to be that no one reads the new sticky either that details people should go online and get all the info because 95% chance they will never get the P3 from Montreal anyways.

You cant switch to Vancouver unless you live in that area.

Unfortunately there is no guide for Vancouver like that - it was made by someone who passed through Montreal US embassy as a courtesy. Would be nice if someone who went through VAN did it for others going through there though.

As Inky and Rayoflight said, most people never receive their Packet 3 from Montreal. They're notoriously backlogged. I received mine after I scheduled my interview. From the moment DOS tells you your Packet 3 instructions were mailed to you, just go ahead and mail your Packet 3. Give them 3 weeks then start calling DOS to see if they received it. Once they did, Send your Packet 4.

TammyandJosh, the DOS clerk is wrong, you won't be able to reach Montreal's consulate. Their answering machine is an endless loop message and they rarely reply to email requests. If your instructions for Packet 3 were mailed to you, go ahead and mail it to them. What they mailed you is exactly the same thing as you'll find on their website.

Packet 3: http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_pkt3

Packet 4: http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_pkt4

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

Wow, so I should just send my Packet 3 now? I've been waiting since Dec. 20th to receive the P3 letter. I feel like an idiot.... better get on that now. Thanks so much for this info.

If you live in Manitoba or West you can go to Vancouver. I just posted a guide that may help with your questions.

This actually happened to me...but it wasn't Montreal that dropped the ball so much as my fiance.

He was calling the NVC instead of the DoS.

I just finished putting the packet together (it took all of one day)...Montreal has had our paperwork since October.

I could have strangled him.
