On the heels of Mitt Romney's landslide eight-vote victory, John McCain says the primary is over and it's time for the Republican Party to settle on Mitt Romney:

Just two days after the first votes in the race to pick a Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain says it's time to wrap things up.

McCain, who endorsed Mitt Romney to be the GOP nominee a day earlier, says Republicans need to "get this thing done with as quickly as possible and get into the main event."

The Arizona senator, speaking Thursday on CBS' "The Early Show," says Republicans need to focus on beating President Barack Obama.

This makes sense. If there's anybody Republicans should listen to about beating Barack Obama, it's John McCain. He practically wrote the book in 2008.

Plus, 30,015 Iowans have spoken loud and clear, and their voices must be heard. Sure, Romney got more votes in 2008, but 0.000038% of Americans have now made their preference clear, so why bother with the rest of the process?

I mean, if John McCain were seeking the Republican nomination and somebody else won Iowa by eight votes, he'd have stepped aside, right? Just like he did in 2000 and 2008, right?

So the time has come for Republicans to stop debating whether or not they are going to nominate Mitt Romney. Now they just need to figure out which Mitt Romney they are about to nominate.

The man who could not beat Obama endorsing the man that could not beat McCain.

Of course, after 4 years of Obama, he could be beaten by a Vermont Teddy Bear.

Actually, I think McCain may still hate Romney and is trying to sabotage him with an endorsement.

Romney would demolish McCain in an election held today. I know I was scratching my head at the stupidity of supporting McCain over Romney in 08. Made no sense at all. Then 2 weeks after the Republican national convention you get financial Armageddon. Stock market crashing 500 points a day. Freddie / Fannie Mae drop to under a buck. Banks going bankrupt that have been around since the days of Abraham Lincoln.

And an old senile man that admits he knows nothing about economics, doesn't remember how many houses he owns, and doesn't use a computer.

It was a total disaster of a pick and Romney would have fared much better. Especially taking into consideration that fixing the economy is his strong suit.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

Looks like a tie to me. Romney, Santorum, and Paul get 7 delegates each, Gingrich and Perry each get 2 delegates. The also rans get 0 delegates. 3 delegates remain unpledged. It takes 1144 delegates to get the nomination.

In other words, it's over. Romney wins. It was a nice primary season. Cheers!

Romney will clean up in NH but he will get his clock cleaned in SC and much of the old south. Not so fast.

First off Romney will get 2nd or 3rd which is fine in SC....After that it will be unofficially over when Romney wins Florida. And officially over on March 6th Super Tuesday. Santorum is now sitting high and the number 2 contender. Romney could not ask for a more perfect number two-man.
