Could it be created if a topic wanted to be continued in a sub forum that only choosen members could be added into the conversation. For example, if i added a few people and they added some, but it was only for that particular topic. And also it be like an "anything goes" in that forum topic.

Doubt it. You could always just create a FB group and chat on there. Or exchange mass emails.

I am one of those guys that have a million ideas circulating. Just a thought.

Having Ideas is good and there is certainly no problem with offering them up for discussion :)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

You doubt it, yet you copy Dex22's suggestion less than a week later and pass it off as your own?

It's not the same situation. I did look at this and it's similar but based on his OP, he wanted to pick certain people, add them like you would in chat, I want to specify regional. The actual members don't matter, their region is what matters. It's a different idea, similar, but different.

That said you do also offer prompt the suggestion that you could add "groups" to chat so if you wanted to PM everyone with the Aussie flag you could, for example.

Before it got closed for the "snarkyness" THIS THREAD was accused of addressing the same issue as listed here...

Note that I believe the issues are different and as Kathryn mentioned continuing/restarting a closed thread in another sub-forum is frowned upon but I do think the idea of moderators being able to institute sub-forum bans in the regional sub-forums is a useful idea that could reduce the amount of sniping we get there by a few problem members.

I really like the idea of sub regional forums for those specific regional members. Take the RUB forum for example. Visa related and life issues in regards to RUB countries are unique among themselves in many situations. Although it would break my heart not to never ever see a UK and/or Canadian posters in the RUB forum, I do think it's for the best to have regional forums for those regional members and those regional members only.

I hope this comes to fruition. :star:

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

If you send someone a PM are both members still governed by the TOS? How private are the messages? I am note wanting to stir up trouble with anyone, i am just trying to learn more about the site. In the past i have been kicked out of a thread due to TOS violation. I wasn't trying to violate the TOS, i just didn't realize that i did until after i posted and was notified of it.

The sender of the PM can reveal what they sent, but the person receiving can't. So if I sent you a PM I could post what I said to you in a forum (or PM it to someone else), but you could not. If you replied to my PM I could not post your reply. If you are harassed via PM and "report" the PM then the PM can be read by the mods.

I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) that you are able to post the "gist" of a message, but not who sent it. For instance I could say that "someone" sent me an abusive PM but I couldn't divulge WHAT was said or WHO said it. I think occasionally it's OK to also say that, for instance, YOU sent me a PM but I couldn't say what you said. So "Dex sent me a friendly msg that I appreciated" or "Dex sent me an abusive msg so I don't like him"... I try to avoid any mention of a PM unless I say "I'll send you a PM"
