Hi there! This is my first post. I just filed my I-130 at the NSC. It was recieved on Feb. 7. The check has not yet been cashed, and clearly I have not yet recieved my NOA1. Should I be concerned that the check hasn't been cashed, yet? I see some folks who recieved their NOA1 within 7 - 10 days . . . is there anyone out there who has sent theirs recently in the same boat? Should I try and call to see if it really did get there or if I need to put a stop-payment on the check and re-mail the application? I though this part was supposed to go a little faster! I expected the long wait for the NOA2!! :help:

Thanks for your responses . . .

Humm... Fedex does not deliver to Post office boxes. Perhaps they sent it to the physical address and it is sitting in the lobby or something? I dunno, you may want to look into it.

K1 Visa Process long ago and far away...

02/09/06 - NOA1 date

12/17/06 - Married!

AOS Process a fading memory...

01/31/07 - Mailed AOS/EAD package for Olga and Anya

06/01/07 - Green card arrived in mail

Removing Conditions

03/02/09 - Mailed I-751 package (CSC)

03/06/09 - Check cashed

03/10/09 - Recieved Olga's NOA1

03/28/09 - Olga did biometrics

05/11/09 - Anya recieved NOA1 (took a call to USCIS to take care of it, oddly, they were helpful)

Any suggestions on how to go about that? I sent it to the physical address listed on the NSC's website, with the PO Box also listed . . . but I too am wondering if it somehow didn't make it there. Is calling them this early in the process without a reciept number a bad idea? I just don't want to start this off all wrong . . .

If you followed the instructions below - and it sounds like you did since you put the physcial address as well - then I don't think you should worry or stop payment on the check.

NOTE : If using overnight delivery by any private service provider, send your package to:

USCIS

Nebraska Service Center

850 S Street

P.O. Box (Insert Correct P.O. Box Number)

Lincoln, NE 68508

Be sure to include the appropriate P.O. Box number on the shipping label too

All right then . . . I did follow those directions . . . So it really can just take this long for them to put the check in and send the NOA1? sigh. Ah well.

Immigration is not for the faint of heart, right?

Thanks.

Hey,

I just sent mine the 10th of January overnight through the post office and I received a NOA1 about a week later. If I were you I would call USCIS and speak to a representative and they may be able to either help you or put you through to an immigration officer who might be able to find out if they got the application. I wouldn't cancel the check until at least after you have tried to call. It will make you feel better just to call them and get some information!!!

Good Luck

It can take a month or so to get your case entered in the system and a NOA generated. Yes, even that long to cash the checks.

I thought I read somewhere on VJ that the K-3s for Nebraska were being forwarded to California ... And if they are, then that would expain the delay in your NOA1 ... I may be totally wrong though ...
