10 year green card approval

Well our first round of immigration was quick, took 4 months start to finish! I wish everyone was as lucky as we were.

April 2011 was time to apply to adjust status, so we were careful to file within the 90 day window, checked checked and rechecked our documents and proof of our marriage, and sent a cashiers check for the fee. Processing times showed 6 months from the date USCIS receives the paper work. My husbands biometrics appointment notice was received for july 2011. On October 28th it had been 6 months, so we gave them a call, as we were now outside of the 6 month window on their site. A very nice man at USCIS looked up our case and explained VSC was processing applications from February 2011, so they were a little behind, and went over what steps we could take in a worst case scenario, but we realized we were just going to have to wait a little longer.

December 28th we were 8 months into the process so we decided to contact them again last night, January 3, 2012. The sweetest lady I could have hoped to get 10 minutes before USCIS closed looked up our case and told us they were processing cases received April 4, 2011, so it really put our minds at ease and we figured we had about 6 more weeks before they would get to ours.

Today on our way home from work I got a text message from USCIS that his 10 year green card had been ordered and should arrive within the next 30 days!!!

I just want people to know that despite all the negative things that you read and hear (& I know a lot of HORRIBLE things happen while going thru this process to people who really don't deserve them), there are positive stories, about people like me and my husband, who met online (playing Xbox), and here we are 3 years later!

I think there are a lot of us who go through the process either within or shortly after the posted timescales. It's just that we don't always come on and say "Hey, I've got it" so all we see are the posts saying that something went wrong for them.

Of all the posts that i have been reading for the last few months, yours was one that literally brought joy and smile on my face kittykisses. I am so glad for you. Congratulations! We sort of started the AOS journey together. I filed in July, so lets see whats in store for me in terms of time. Good luck and God bless you. Please pray for me.
