I have met many tolerant atheists, they laugh at the beliefs of others and walk away, the ones I know do not try to convert anyone. But there are those religious types who hand out tracts in airports calling you names for not believing, there are those who knock on my door and refuse to hear any counter arguments, and there are those who kill in the name of religion because they are so wrapped up in it. I did not sat etc, that is correct, but I could have added whoever, whatever, or ad infinitum. I decided to add FSM for some humor and to also show the number of gods out there.

i haven't met any. the atheist i've met almost always feel they need to be jackasses towards religious people. you keep describing the extreme lunatic element of religion. so...i don't know you or your true intention. but, i'm still calling BS! that FSM wasn't a swipe at christians.

I'm a tolerant atheist. I don't push my lack of belief on anyone else since it's my own private business, just like your belief is your private business. As it should be. I don't get in your face, don't get in mine. If you want to believe, I really don't care, just as you shouldn't care that I don't.

If you tell me I'm a bad person for my sinlicious, non-believing lifestyle, I'm going to be offended, however, and might tell you where to stick it. Viva la First Amendment!

FSM is not a swipe at christians any more than allah, budah, or umbleeb of the seven seas is. Why be offended at what you believe does not exist?

My intent was not to start a thread to pick on a religion. I saw someone post "Just trust Jesus" to a devout muslim. Rather cruel don't you think? What if I told you to trust the FSM? Or allah? It would probably bother you from the sound of your replies here. Plenty of people let it roll off their back I see, which I found surprising. I thought more people would be offended but like they said, there are bigger things in life to worry about.
