Hey All,

I have my interview scheduled for Jan. 18, 2012. On the form they sent, it has a list of things, that says "you must bring the following items with you" it has a long list of things with an empty box next to them. None of the boxes are checked, but two of them have lines in the margin next to them, and seem to be the only ones relevant for my case. Are those the only things I must bring, or is the whole list of items with the empty boxes also things, I should bring (most of them I don't have or are not relevant to my case, or I've already submitted). I appreciate any guidance with what to bring at interview.

Is your interview at the Embassy in Syria or in Jordan?

You must bring everything that is on the list. My fiance had his interview back in September in Jordan and we had everything organized and labeled in a binder, along with all of our documentation of our relationship.

You want to get working on getting all of your paperwork ASAP because as you know, the offices in Syria do not move things along quickly (i.e. your police record, civil record, military record, birth certificate...these will take you a few weeks to get, unless you know someone in the office. They all need to be musaddaqa with stamps. AND you need them translated into English. we have been trying to get my fiance's military exemption letter translated for 3 months, but the mukhabarat are not doing anything to give him the needed stamps). So you should get moving very quickly on getting EVERYTHING on the list.

The OP is already in the US, I would presume, and is having an interview for AOS.

OP - bring what is requested/relevant for your case. Which ones have lines next to them? Also being originals of anything you sent copies of already. Generally you will want to bring evidence of your relationship as well as originals of documents like marriage license, birth certificates, etc. Bringing extra copies of those things isn't a bad idea either as you never know if something in your file will be misplaced (ie we got there and the IO could not find my divorce decree).

Can you list the things they want you to bring? That way those of us yet to get the letter can start getting our papers together right now.
