Hi,

I am a newbie here and I do have a question. I did my citizenship interview on Dec. 15th 2011. The IO told me to expect the oath letter in December and Oath probably in Jan. It is now Jan and no oath letter yet. I have read posts on other experiences on this link below and it seems people from atlanta got their oath letters a few days after the interview. Is there someone who did their interview in atlanta around 15th Dec. and if so have you recieved your oath letter or notice.

Thank you in advance...

I had mine on the 6th of dec. and still nothing. I did request a name change but i tought it would only take a couple of weeks. After the interview the IO said that since i was in the military they would be able to offer the on same day so she told me to wait but 1hr later she said they couldn't do it so i said "then i might as well get the name change". I wish I hadn't said said specially because the next court naturalization ceremony in ATL is feb 10th and i don't know if i'll be scheduled for that one and the next one won't be untill mid april. Oh wel...

I hear name change takes a little longer...so that is probably why yours has slightly delayed. I did not request for name change and it was based on 5 years resident...i thought it went pretty well and was hoping to be done by now or atleast have my oath letter. Do you know when the next regular oath date is or where I can find the regular oath schedule (not the court one for name change?)

I have no idea of when the next oath ceremony will be but i tought they had one every week. When i did my interview there were at least 10-15 people interviewing for naturalization so if they need a minimum amount for the ceremony the should have every week.

Wife works for a 24/7 hospital, nice Christmas and New Years day fell on a Sunday, and she wasn't scheduled to work on either weekend, just got those days off, anyway. They don't give the eve days off, so she had to work Monday through Friday. But she did get called in on Christmas day for three hours and received her regular pay for that day.

Just told her if she worked for the government, would have gotten both the Friday and Monday off for both Christmas and New Years, and could have taken three days of sick leave off for Tuesday through Thursday for a full eleven days off. Well the USCIS is part of the government with even extra days off to prepare and end that holiday. Well did show up but don't do much.

Just saying to add two weeks to your wait or even longer, because that work piled up and they have to catch up, only to fall behind again for all those days off in February for Presidents day. Her hospital does not give those days off.

Hi friends, have you heard anything about your oath scheduling yet? I interviewed in Boston a month ago and I am still waiting for my oath letter.

Hi,

I am in ATL office though...but yes i did get a text today that my case status has moved to the oath. I am still waiting for the letter though. All the best with yours.

Shouldn't the oath letter come within 45 days after your approval? If so, you have a whole month in which you could still receive that letter. Don't worry, it will come :)

N400 Timeline:

12/14/11 - Sending out N400 package

12/19/11 - Received by USCIS

12/21/11 - NOA date

12/22/11 - Check cashed

12/27/11 - Received NOA

02/06/12 - Received yellow letter (pre-interview case file review)

03/13/12 - Placed in line for interview scheduling (3 yr anniversary)

03/17/12 - Received interview letter

04/17/12 - Interview - No decision, application under further review

04/17/12 - Biometrics

04/25/12 - Placed in line for oath scheduling (so I'm approved yay!)

04/27/12 - Received oath ceremony date

05/09/12 - Oath ceremony!!

Yes, that is what i read somewhere as well. Now that my online status says my case is in the oath schedule queue, I guess I will wait for them to schedule a date and send me the letter. Thanks for your response.

I also read something about getting the 45 days after approval. Yet there seems to be a gray area created by USCIS to cover their own backs, based on my conversation with the customer service people and my reading of some posts in the forum. Since the N-652 form given after the interview only say you are "recommended for approval", they can always argue that technically the case has not actually been approved by a supervisor. Hence the exact time of approval is whatever they say.

Anyone could shed some light on this issue?

well, I had my interview on December 8th, 2011, in Indianapolis.

The officer told me that he would recommend me for approval.

On December 13th (according to the online case status tracker) my application was placed in the 'oath scheduling queue'.

Last week I called to find out how long it would take until my oath ceremony.

I was told that the maximum time frame to expect was 120 days between interview and oath,

and that I should call again if I wouldn't have my invitation for the oath ceremony 90 days after the interview.

So, in my case, by March 8th, 2012.
