Hi Everyone, Happy holidays! :)

I just want to ask what is a PACKET 3 OR PACKAGE 3? We are ready to pay for the visa fee but then when I called the Manila Embassy the agent told me that she couldn't traced our case. Does it mean our case hasn't entered into their system yet? I told her that we had our MNL# already coz my fiance called the NVC and the NVC told my fiance that our case left Dec. 14 to Manila Embassy. How long does it take for our case to entered into the Manila Embassy's system. It's going to be a month since our case left the NVC. The agent at USEM told me to wait until exactly a month(Jan.14) and just give an ample time before I can sked my interview. Is this really true? While talking to the agent she told me that I can just download the pdf file from the USEM site and print it to present/show/bring during my interview. Is this the packet 3 or the instructions for the interview? Is this also the letter that they are going to send me? We just want to get this done so we can be together. So confused. Please help us guys :( :( :(

This is what the agent meant: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_003.pdf

You can try to call again and tell him that you already got your manila case # so that they will look into it and input it in the system right away... When I did my K-1 it took them 2 weeks to enter it in the system and since its holiday... maybe they are more backlog than usual... try also emailing the IVManilaReplies@state.gov, this will also help them locate your file and enter it in the system.

Meanwhile, start gathering the needed documents right away! You can also do the walk in at SLEC for your medical.

Goodluck!

Hi HarveyAndTheresa, thanks for the quick response :). Is this pdf file from the USEM website is the letter that they are going to send me once they already received my case? Aside from calling or emailing them, Is there any other ways on how will I know that my case has been entered already to their system? Can I just pay right now the visa fee even though they haven't entered our case to their system yet?

The agent actually asked my passport number, my complete name and my MNL # and date of birth. And she said she was creating a profile for me. I told her we're going to sked my interview appointment online.

Then you should be able to schedule your appointment once you paid your visa fee since the agent already put on a request, the letter that you will receive from the embassy is just a congratulatory letter with some websites links that will help you to schedule and link to the US embassy website also.

Yes, the pdf file that I provided you is from the embassy... click this link if you want to be sure: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3224.html

also, I recommend that you join this group in FB http://www.facebook.com/groups/211136955590279/, we are filipinas who went on the process of K-1, CR1, IR1 etc... you will find first hand information there.
