I called to check status at NVC and correct an e-mail address. During this process I was told that we were chosen for AP. They told me that unfortunately there is no timeframe for AP. He said it could be shipped out tomorrow, or we could be in AP for an extended amount of time. Has anyone ever had a brief AP time at the NVC?

Called today to see about forwarding case to New Zealand instead of London just incase my fiance wanted to transfer so he could at least be with his family while waiting. I was told I would have to contact the embassy in London because they had alread forwarded the case! We had a very short AP time and I am so thankful! The only reason I called to check about a transfer was because I thought it would be stuck there for a long while.

@me&him, I hope your time comes really soon! Good luck!

I was stuck in AP for about 2 to 3 weeks - I estimate that time based on the difference between my processing time and that of others. Apparently, it's entirely random.

That is what I was told. I was also told that AP can mean something different for each file that is chosen. Some files they do full on background checks and the rest of the process all over and others could be just review the file. Some fall somewhere in between. At least we are all on our way now :)

Sri, you are not so special.....everyone goes through AP, from USCIS, from NVC and then again from the Embassy.

Our AP at NVC took three weeks.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

What the :ranting: !!!

I was approved on Dec 5th. The NVC still don't have our file. Whether that means were in AP or not, I don't know. Seems like it's an unnecessary step in the whole thing, to be honest.

Hope we all get answers soon!

Our AP at NVC took three weeks.

Very happy not being special :) Was told that files are randomly pulled and considered in AP (which I verified was different than regular processing) Being considered "in AP" can mean much added processing time. Your AP was 3 weeks mine was a few days for others it can be a couple months. Maybe not so special but very happy being me with my few days vs others with weeks or months :) That step finished and now just hoping for what everyone else hopes for, a process that moves as quickly as possible so I can marry my sweetie!

Fingers crossed for you that something happens for you soon!

I called today and was also told that my case was send to the embassy. I was in AP for 3 weeks exactly...

YAY! Glad that hurdle is over for you :)
