I have been a permanent resident since Sept 2010(renewing green card this year)

My wife(USC), Stepson(USC) and I are planning on going back to the UK this March and noticed that I had never completed an I-131 form. Will this be an issue when coming back into the country?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Nope. Your greencard gives you the right to work and travel by itself. The I-131 is only a stop gap measure between when you file AOS and receive GC.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

You don't need one if you are just going for a short visit.

131 is not only a stop gap. It is also the form that gets you a re-entry permit if you are planning to leave the US longer than 1 year.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thanks guys I suspected it was just a stop gap between travel and waiting for green card.

we are only going for a week/10 days then heading back to renew green card.

Yes, that form is also used for refugee travel documents. I was using the lingo the OP used to make it clearer to him. I inferred he was speaking of Advance Parole when he said form I-131 and the fact that he "never filed." I think such ultra pedantry is a major detraction from this site and is tiresome.
