When i had my visa interview i took everythinggggg. hundreds of pages of facebook msgs, emails, phone bills, skype logs. It weighed a tonne, lol. In the end they never ended up looking at any of it but i'm of the opinion that if you don't take everything, then they're going to ask to see everything. Better safe than sorry and take whatever you can. I put all of mine into a folder.

Finally time for AOS.......

And at my interview they took nothing.

In my original packet we sent our joint lease, about 4 photos, a copy of the receipt for my ring and copies of our degree certificates from the same university.

Check others who went through your embassy for what to bring to the interview. Proof required depends on your situation and what you want to send. Check the instructions too: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

I think the best advice I have heard is to bring a couple of emails per week, a couple of chats per week... just a sampling. If I printed out my Skype chat logs it would be over 2,000 pages and that is only within 5-6 months. You can't take everything if you chat alot. Plus phone records and everything else.

When i did my facebook messages i just copied and pasted certain parts of conversations into microsoft word and then printed them off like that. If you do that thought just make sure when you copy you get the date/time etc as well

I took everything....even though they didn't look at one piece. But I organized it all in a 3" binder with tabs....from the most relevant (copy of initial petition, NOA's, Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificates, Copy of Bio page of Passport, etc...., then the call logs, messages, receipts, etc..., then the pictures. I had a small album, then an envelope with pictures in chronological order from first visit to last. I went 6 times so I took the most important 15 pictures from each visit. In a separate envelope I had a bunch of other pictures, just in case.

Go with more evidence than you need. Some people will say (from other countries) that too much evidence can be a negative thing...but for DR, more is definitely better.

I would read the interview reviews from the Dominican Republic specific area. This will give you an idea of what other people brought to their DR interview. Good luck!!!

   Good advice, and go quickly before the "You dont need any of that stuff" crowd shows up!

Haha,

or the "you need every thing you or he has ever touched and call logs for every single conversation" crowd :D

It really depends on the situation and the country doesn't it!?

VJ can steer you the wrong way sometimes. I learned that lesson once. I have also got really great advice here. Mostly from regional forums and from listening to the experience of others and then verifying that information.

I suppose its better to have too much than not enough. We had a few pieces of quality, primary evidence and that was enough. Our situation meant we had that. I get that for others in different situations (like LDR) you have to be more creative in building that picture. As I said....the evidence depends on the situation :)

Good luck OP!

The US Consulate will not accept the binders and plastic folder, they will return it to you and even ask you to take out the papers from the binders. They dont need it at all. I had my interview last january 13, 2012. They only ask me for the pictures. I printed it out on ordinary typewriting. Mine is only 3 pages (4 pictures each). Actually one of my friend who had her interview too on K1 visa submit only 1 piece of picture. She has no email and no chat logs with her on the day of the interview but she was able to pass the visa interview. Although the consulate didnt asked for my emails and chatlogs, i still advice you to be prepared for everything. Dont print a lot, just print 1 email for every month, in my case i prepared only 4 emails and chat logs in every year.

I've got mine at 08:30, which is in 6 hours, in London. For proof that we love each other, I've got a bunch of photos from when we first got together through to March when she visited, all the love letters (including timestamped envelopes!) she's sent me, of which there are about 100, and then a load of screengrabs of text message conversations of us being sweet to each other. I probably won't need anything other than the photos, but I'd hate to get delayed/ rejected because I didn't bring stuff I had at home.

I'm so nervous, I'm on the verge of throwing up.

If you are talking about for the I-129F petition, then check with your regional forum to see how necessary it is to front-load. You could send a small sampling of each type that spans the entire time of your relationship, rather than sending all of that with the petition. Then, bring the rest with you, plus any new evidence you have gathered since the initial filing to the interview.

I have a friend who's fiance is waiting on her interview in a different country than my fiance so he helps me alot...I just sent off my petition and have done quite a bit of research. I got a binder I will be putting all my paperwork in including my affidavit of support and so on... and labeling for my fiance and I got a 2 whole punch and putting a page from everyday in a binder from our viber messages (which is what we use the most), FB messages and he will be printing out our skype log to make it look nice and organized. I don't think they are going to sit and read thousands of pages...TRUST ME I HAVE TONS as well and printed them from only 4 months and this don't include the next 4 till we get an interview and I was like NO WAY they will laugh...I think they just want to see proof with dates and times of actual contact is all...I think a few pages from every week should sufice! I hear ya in not wanting to NOT send something when you could have, but I don't think TONS of printouts is necessary! Hope this helps you :)

How do you print your viber conversation? We are just starting this process and we have actually never called each other on a telephone! We have been 100% vitual in skype, viber, line etc. Are you taking screen grabs from your phone to do it?

Thanks for your help!
